In the 1960s and 1970s, almost at the same time as the invention of the 1300mah 6s battery, studies found that many compounds (atoms on the layers interacted with strong covalent bonds. The interlayers were layered and columnar chemistry maintained by intermolecular forces. Substances, commonly clay, silicate, phosphate, etc.) can reversibly react with metallic lithium to form a 1300mah 6s battery.
The layered organization proposed in the 1970s was used as the negative electrode of the battery system. The metal lithium was used as the positive electrode of the battery system, and it was the most representative 1300mah 6s battery. In 1976, British scientist Whittingham confirmed the reliability of this system. Subsequently, Exxon conducted in-depth research on the 1300mah 6s battery system and hoped to commercialize it. However, the system soon exposed many fatal flaws.
First, the active metal lithium easily leads to the decomposition of the organic electrolyte, resulting in the internal pressure of the battery.
Secondly, the 1300mah 6s battery under this system is due to the uneven potential distribution on the surface of the lithium electrode, metal lithium will be deposited on the negative electrode, resulting in lithium "dendrites" (the crystals are prone to dendrite growth when the deviation from the equilibrium condition is large, forming dendrites.
On the one hand, it will cause the loss of reversible lithium intercalation capacity, and on the other hand, the dendrites can penetrate the diaphragm and connect to the negative electrode, causing an internal short circuit in the 1300mah 6s battery, instantly absorbing a lot of heat and causing an explosion.
These series of factors lead to the deterioration of the cycle performance and safety performance of lithium metal batteries, so this 1300mah 6s battery system has not been commercialized.
In 1980, French scientist Armand first proposed the idea of "rocking chair battery". During the charging and discharging process, lithium ions are in a positive-negative-positive moving state, and the two ends of the rocking chair are the two poles of the battery. Instead of metal lithium, a lithium compound with a low lithium intercalation potential is used as the positive electrode, and a lithium compound with a high lithium intercalation potential is used as the negative electrode.
In the same year, Professor Goodenough of the University of Texas proposed a series of lithium transition metal oxides (M=Co, Ni or Mn) as cathode materials for 1300mah 6s battery.
In 1987, Aobang successfully assembled a concentration-difference battery and proved the feasibility of the rocking chair battery idea. However, due to the high intercalation potential and low intercalation capacity of the negative electrode material, it did not show the high specific capacity of high-voltage lithium-ion secondary batteries. The advantages.
In 1987, Japan's Sony Corporation used lithium intercalation coke (LiXC6) to replace lithium metal as the positive electrode, and through the (M=Co, Ni, Mn) 1300mah 6s battery system, the reversible intercalation and delithiation carbon material was used as the negative electrode. At the same time of service life, it can maintain high voltage stability, and successfully solve the shortcomings of low cycle life and poor safety performance of lithium ion secondary batteries.
The research on pure 1300mah 6s battery started in 1989. In the 1300mah 6s battery invented by Nagoura and others in Japan, petroleum coke is the positive electrode and lithium ion cobalt is the negative electrode. In the same year, Sony officially launched the first-generation commercial 1300mah 6s battery with a coke structure in the market, and adopted the concept of the 1300mah 6s battery for the first time.
Since then, with the continuous in-depth and systematic research of 1300mah 6s battery material research, in 1997 Sony Corporation commercialized the graphite cathode 1300mah 6s battery. The era of rapid development of 1300mah 6s battery has arrived, and it currently occupies the largest market share in the small secondary battery market such as cameras, mobile phones, notebook computers and power tools. In recent years, it has also achieved rapid development in the electric vehicle battery market.
In the development history of 1300mah 6s battery, we can see three characteristics of the development of the world battery industry:
One is the rapid development of green and environmentally friendly batteries, including 1300mah 6s battery and nickel-metal hydride battery;
The second is the conversion of batteries, which is a sustainable development strategy;
The third is the further development of photovoltaic cells in the direction of small and thin. In the commercialization process of the battery, the proportion of 1300mah 6s battery is the highest, especially the polymer 1300mah 6s battery, which can realize thin rechargeable batteries.
Because the 1300mah 6s battery is small in size, high in energy, light in weight, rechargeable, and pollution-free, it has three main characteristics for the development of the battery industry, so it develops rapidly in developed countries.
In recent years, the development of the electronic information market, especially the use of mobile phones and notebook computers, has brought more market opportunities for the 1300mah 6s battery.
Recently, due to the rise of new energy vehicles, the development of 1300mah 6s battery has been promoted. For details, please refer to this article: Explosive models drive the rapid growth of the 6s lithium battery industry
The energy structure with fossil fuels of coal, oil and natural gas as the main energy sources has made environmental pollution increasingly serious, and the resulting global warming and ecological environment deterioration have received more and more attention.
Therefore, the development of renewable energy and new energy has become one of the most decisive influences in the future technology field and the future economic world.
As a new secondary clean energy and renewable energy, 1300mah 6s battery has the unique advantages of safety, and it will gradually replace traditional batteries and become the mainstream. The polymer 1300mah 6s battery is called the battery of the 21st century, which is a new era of 1300mah 6s battery, and its development prospects are very optimistic.
