200W Dual-Channel Charging from AC Power

The D2 Mark II is particularly useful for a permanent home or workshop charging station because its power supply is built into the charger. Connect it to a compatible 100–240V AC mains source and it can operate without the separate DC power supply required by many high-performance compact chargers.

Its two charging channels can independently manage separate batteries, with charge current adjustable from 0.2A to 12.0A per channel. Maximum available charging power for the charger is 200W total, so actual current at any moment depends on battery voltage, charging conditions and how the available power is being used across the two channels.

This distinction matters when comparing charger specifications: the D2 Mark II should not be interpreted as providing 200W independently from each channel.

Two Independent Charging Channels

The D2 Mark II provides two independently controlled battery channels, allowing two supported batteries to be charged, discharged or managed at the same time. This can be especially useful for RC users who regularly prepare multiple batteries before a flying, racing or driving session.

Each channel has its own battery output and balance connection. When two different charging tasks are used, each channel can display its own operating information on the 2.4-inch IPS screen.

A 5V/2A USB output is also provided on the side of the charger for powering or charging suitable USB devices.

Parallel Task: Combine Both Channels for One Battery

One of the more important D2 Mark II upgrades is Parallel Task. Despite the name, this should not be confused with connecting several batteries to a conventional parallel charging board.

In Parallel Task mode, the D2 Mark II combines the capability of its two charging outputs for one battery. A correctly wired one-to-two power splitter is required: the battery connects to one side of the splitter while the two charger-side connections attach to the D2 Mark II output ports. The battery balance lead connects to one of the charger's appropriate balance ports.

Parallel Task ≠ Parallel Charging Board:
The D2 Mark II Parallel Task combines the charger's two channels to work with one battery. It is different from using a parallel board to connect several batteries together.

The official operating instructions specify a Parallel Task charging-current adjustment range of 12–20A and a parallel discharge-current range of 1.5–3A. This is also why some descriptions of the D2 Mark II reference a 20A capability: 20A applies to the combined Parallel Task mode, not 20A per independent channel.

Dual Task for Matched Charging Settings

The D2 Mark II also provides a Dual Task function. When selected, the charger applies the same configured parameters to batteries connected to both channels for charging, discharging or storage tasks.

This can simplify repetitive battery preparation when two suitable packs need the same operating parameters, while still using the D2 Mark II's two-channel architecture.

CH1 Can Operate as an Adjustable DC Power Supply

The D2 Mark II adds another useful bench function: CH1 DC Power mode. When this function is selected, Channel 1 operates as an adjustable DC power output rather than as a battery charger.

The output voltage can be adjusted from 2 to 24V, with current adjustable from 1.0 to 5.0A. This can be useful for suitable low-voltage bench electronics and hobby equipment within the charger's supported output limits.

Important: CH1 DC Power is an output function. The D2 Mark II itself is an AC-input charger and should not be mistaken for a charger with an external DC charging input.

LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and Li-ion Battery Support

The ISDT D2 Mark II supports a broad range of rechargeable battery chemistries, including LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and Li-ion batteries from 1S to 6S. It also supports NiMH and NiCd batteries from 1 to 16 cells and lead-acid batteries from 1 to 12 cells.

For multi-cell lithium packs, the charger's balance connections support 2S through 6S on each channel. A 1S lithium pack does not require multi-cell balancing, which is why the supported lithium chemistry range can begin at 1S while the balance-port specification begins at 2S.

LiPo / LiHV charging: Standard LiPo batteries must use the correct LiPo program and must not be charged above 4.20V per cell. LiHV batteries should only be charged using the appropriate LiHV charging mode when the battery is designed for the higher LiHV charge voltage.

scOS Smart Charging Interface

The D2 Mark II uses ISDT's scOS smart charging interface, combining a 2.4-inch 320 × 240 IPS display with dedicated channel buttons and a speed shuttle control for navigating tasks and advanced settings.

The visual interface displays charging status, current, battery voltage, capacity information and individual cell information where applicable, helping users monitor both channels from one screen.

The charger also includes a firmware update interface, allowing supported firmware updates to be performed through a computer.

Dual-Fan Active Cooling

Inside the D2 Mark II, ISDT uses a carefully arranged internal power system together with a dual-fan cooling design. Active airflow helps remove heat generated by the internal AC power supply and charging electronics during operation.

Good ventilation around the charger is still essential. Do not block the cooling openings or operate the charger on a soft surface that can restrict airflow.

Compact Desktop Design

The D2 Mark II measures approximately 120 × 108 × 70mm, allowing the charger, AC power system, two charging channels and active cooling system to fit into a relatively compact desktop enclosure.

Because the AC supply is integrated, this design can reduce the number of separate devices and power cables required compared with a DC-only charger paired with an external desktop power supply.

100–240V AC Input and Power Protection

The D2 Mark II accepts 100–240V AC input, allowing the charger electronics to operate across common mains voltage ranges when used with the correct regional AC power cable and plug.

ISDT also describes the AC power-management system as using PFC technology together with several protective functions, including short-circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protection.
