Is there an all-in-one charger for 1S to 4S? That’s a great question, and the answer depends on what you're really trying to solve. Technically, any LiPo charger can charge down to 1S, but there's a catch: 1S batteries are so small that if you're charging them one at a time, you end up wasting a lot of time just sitting there cycling batteries.
If you fly Tiny Whoops, this becomes a big issue. With larger drones—say, a 5-inch or even a 3-inch quad—you’ll typically have five, seven, maybe ten batteries. You charge them all up, and you're ready for a session. But with a Tiny Whoop, it’s totally different. You're constantly flying and constantly charging. In one day, you could easily go through 30 battery packs.
Now compare that to flying a bigger quad. Ten packs on a 5-inch drone can feel like a full day—mentally tiring and time-consuming. But with Tiny Whoops, you go through packs much faster, and it’s less mentally demanding, so the pace is quicker.
That’s why for 1S charging, you really want a setup where you can very quickly just pop the battery onto the charger and go, ideally charging multiple packs at once. And while that idea also exists for bigger batteries—like using parallel charge boards for 4–8 packs at a time—the use case is still different.
With parallel charging, you need to put all the batteries on the board at the same time, start the charge cycle, and wait. Once that’s done—maybe 30 minutes later—you pull them all off. But with 1S batteries, especially when you're just rotating quickly through tiny whoop packs, you want to plug in a battery, start charging, unplug another, and keep going. You want each battery to charge independently without having to micro-manage the process.
That’s why a lot of people go for dedicated 1S chargers. Take the Vifly ToothStor as an example—it’s technically a dedicated 2S charger, but there’s a 1S version that many people use. It’s probably sitting on my bench somewhere. These chargers are great because they’re compact, USB-C powered, and extremely portable. You can power them from a wall plug, a USB power bank, or even a LiPo battery—no bulky AC power brick needed.
On the other hand, your standard 6S charger setup tends to be much larger, and if you're only charging 1S packs, most of that space is wasted. If you're just heading out to fly your Tiny Whoop, carrying a big charger makes no sense.
So to sum it up: while there are LiPo chargers that technically support 1S through 4S, the reality is that efficiently charging 1S batteries—especially for Tiny Whoops—requires a specialized approach.
If you frequently fly Whoops, relying on a general-purpose 6S charger to handle your 1S needs will quickly become frustrating. You'll be stuck charging one battery at a time or trying to parallel charge in a way that’s not well-suited for the tiny, fast-draining packs these micro quads use.
That’s why most experienced pilots prefer to pair their all-in-one charger with a dedicated 1S charging solution. This could be:
A multi-port 1S charger with independent channels, powered by USB-C or a battery bank, for maximum portability.
A 1S series charging board that lets you charge several packs at once using your main charger without babysitting each charge cycle.
In many cases, having both is the most flexible setup. Use your big charger and series board at home when prepping a batch of batteries, and throw your portable 1S charger in your field bag when you're flying on the go.
So is there a true "all-in-one" charger for 1S–4S? Technically, yes. But practically? The best setup is a smart combo that lets you charge quickly, safely, and in a way that matches how you fly. Whether you're running 30 micro packs in a day or prepping for a freestyle session with a handful of 4S batteries, choosing the right tools for each job makes your flying smoother and more enjoyable.
