Understanding the Funco Sand Car’s 8S Power System
The Pro Scale Funco Sand Car runs on dual 4S LiPo batteries. When you connect two 4S packs in series, the voltage stacks to create an 8S system (29.6V nominal). The capacity doesn’t double — two 5200mAh packs still give you 5200mAh total, just with double the punch in voltage.
Recommended CNHL 4S LiPo Options
After testing different setups, here are three go-to choices for this rig: – 9500mAh 4S 90C EC5 ×2 for the longest sand sessions and pure bashing power. – 6200mAh 4S 90C EC5 ×2 as the balanced everyday option. – 5200mAh 4S 90C EC5 ×2 if you want a lighter, more responsive feel for speed runs.
Connector Notes
Out of the box, the Sand Car uses Traxxas High-Current (TRX/iD) connectors. CNHL batteries come with EC5 plugs, which can easily be paired using a short EC5-to-TRX adapter or a clean solder swap. Keep polarity correct and you’re good to go for reliable 8S performance.
