Mini Slash 4X4 Battery Tray: Real Fitment
The tray on the Mini Slash 4X4 is about 113 × 41 × 22 mm. Go past 113 mm in length or 22 mm in height and the latch just won’t click. Forcing it usually ends with scratched plastic—ask me how I know.
Why 2200mAh 2S Feels Better Than Stock
The truck comes with a 3500mAh 2S pack. It lasts longer, sure, but it also feels a bit heavy. Drop in a CNHL 2200mAh 2S LiPo and the truck instantly feels lighter—snappier in corners, easier to flick around, and softer on landings. Runtime’s shorter, but swapping a couple of 2200s back-to-back is way more fun than lugging one big pack.
30C vs 40C: Which One’s For You?
- 2200mAh 2S 30C — budget-friendly, smooth punch, perfect if you’re bashing around casually.
- 2200mAh 2S 40C — hits harder off the line, better if you like throttle all the way down.
Connectors: Deans/T with Traxxas
Both packs ship with Deans/T plugs. Throw on an adapter and you’re good to go with the Traxxas high-current/iD setup. If you’ve got other rigs that also use Deans/T, even better—you can swap packs without rewiring everything.
Recommended Packs (Drop-in Fit)
- CNHL 2200mAh 7.4V 2S 30C LiPo (Deans/T) — light, affordable, great for all-day fun with extra packs.
- CNHL 2200mAh 7.4V 2S 40C LiPo (Deans/T) — stronger punch if you love hard acceleration.
Mini Slash 4X4 Battery FAQ
Is this just the old 1/16 Slash?
Not really. The new Mini Slash has a longer 235 mm wheelbase and a fresh chassis. The tray size is why 2200mAh 2S packs are the easiest fit.
Why does Traxxas call it “1/10” sometimes?
They’re talking about the guts—the BL-2s motor and 32-pitch gears are the same spec you’d see in a 1/10 truck. The chassis is still Mini.
Can I squeeze in bigger packs?
If it’s longer than 113 mm or taller than 22 mm, the lid won’t close. Save yourself the fight and stick to packs that actually drop in.
