CNHL Havok 1000mm 4S Sport Racer Plane – Built on a Proven 1m Havok Airframe
The CNHL Havok 1000mm 4S Sport Racer RC Plane PNP is a 1-meter foam speed plane for pilots who crave adrenaline without giving up everyday practicality. Based on the well-known 1000mm Havok sport racer airframe, this CNHL edition keeps the same 4S power system, tall vertical performance and forgiving flight envelope, and wraps it in a high-visibility yellow/red racing scheme that stands out in any sky.
With a 1600KV brushless outrunner, 70A ESC (XT60) and 7.8x7 two-blade prop on 4S, the CNHL Havok delivers well over 100 mph in level flight and “vertical for days” when you open the throttle. Throttle back and it will cruise smoothly, carve big lazy eights and glide for a very long way at zero power, before settling into a belly landing on grass.
This is not a first airplane. It is a “next step” sport racer plane for pilots who already fly aileron-equipped models and want something faster, more exciting and still manageable to hand launch and land without a runway.

In the Air: Speed, Sound and Handling
Part of the Havok legend is not only how fast it is, but how it sounds. At full power the CNHL Havok has that sharp, high-pitched “race plane” scream on every low pass – many pilots compare it to a Reno-style P-51 or an F1 race car slicing down the straight. It is a model that makes you smile just listening to it.

On 4S the CNHL Havok will accelerate quickly out of a hand launch, build speed in a shallow dive and carry that energy through big circuits. Pull vertical and it will keep going up much longer than you expect. Rolls are crisp, inverted flight is stable, and big round loops feel effortless.
What surprises many pilots is how well it behaves off the throttle. With the motor at idle the Havok will float and glide far at zero power, which makes approaches and belly landings much less stressful than on many similar-size racers. It will fly slow figure-eights and pattern-style circuits without feeling twitchy, as long as your CG is in the recommended range and control throws are set sensibly.
Wide Flight Envelope: Two Planes in One
The CNHL Havok works almost like two different airplanes depending on what your right hand is doing:
-
Throttle up: A fast, low-drag sport racer rc plane that wants to rip down the runway line, climb vertical and carve high-energy turns. Perfect for “wake-up” flights and speed fixes.
-
Throttle back: A surprisingly relaxed cruiser that will fly slow, wide circuits, practice basic aerobatics and glide in with long, gentle approaches.
That combination is what makes the Havok airframe so addictive. It is exciting when you feel like pushing, but it does not punish you with constant stress when you simply want an easy sport flight.
Battery Bay and Power System (4S 2200–3300mAh)
Inside the fuselage you will find a spacious, uninterrupted battery compartment with a removable tray separating the 80A ESC from the pack. The hatch uses a strong magnet and a wooden lip, giving clean access to the bay and your receiver.

The recommended setup is a 4S 2200–3300mAh LiPo with XT60 connector. Many pilots enjoy pushing further:
-
4S 2200mAh: light and agile, perfect for short, high-energy flights.
-
4S 2500–3300mAh: the “sweet spot” for most flying styles, mixing speed and reasonable flight time.
The CNHL Havok is designed around a 1600KV outrunner, 70A ESC (XT60) and a 7.8x7 two-blade prop on 4S. That combination is more than enough to take the model well beyond 100 mph while retaining good throttle response and smooth acceleration. The battery bay has enough space left over to mount a small gyro or flight controller if you wish.
Note: Some Pilots have experimented with 6S power at their own risk. The CNHL Havok is configured for 4S operation out of the box; any high-voltage modifications should only be attempted by experienced pilots who understand the limits of the motor, ESC and propeller.
Optimized for Belly Landings
Everything about the bottom of the airframe is designed to make grass belly landings as painless as possible:
-
Wing servos and linkages are mounted on the top surface so they never scrape the ground.
-
Plastic skid and cooling inlets on the underside protect the foam and help cool the ESC.
- The fuselage shape encourages the model to slide on its belly at zero or near-zero throttle when you flare for landing.

Like any fixed-prop belly lander, there is still some risk of nicking a prop if you land too fast or on rough ground. The best technique is to slow the Havok as much as possible, flare positively and land into the wind on a reasonably smooth grass strip. Many pilots also like to keep a couple of spare props in their field box for peace of mind.
No-Glue Screw Assembly
The CNHL Havok is a straightforward build. It arrives in carefully packed subassemblies and goes together with only a screwdriver:
- Install the carbon spar and bolt on the two-piece horizontal stabilizer with four medium screws.
- Attach the one-piece main wing with four large screws from the underside of the fuselage.
- Drop in the battery tray and secure it with four small screws to separate the ESC bay from the pack.
- Connect the ailerons using the included Y-lead, then plug in elevator and rudder servos.
- Attach the ball-link control rods to the control surfaces using the supplied screws and nuts.
- Fit the backplate, prop, washer, nut and metal spinner, then secure the spinner with its screw.
All screws are bagged by size and include a spare in each bag. A basic screwdriver is included, but most pilots will prefer to use their own tools. From unboxing to maiden flight, a careful builder can have the model ready in about an evening.
High-Visibility CNHL Yellow/Red Scheme
One of the classic complaints about many 1m racers is that they disappear when they fly straight at you against a grey sky. For the CNHL edition, the Havok airframe is finished in a bright yellow and red racing trim with clear panel lines and contrasting accents.
The result is simple: the airplane is easier to see in fast passes, easier to track in big turns and easier to orient when you are high and far out. If you have ever lost a dark sport racer plane against the background, you will appreciate how much difference a thoughtful paint scheme makes.
FPV Friendly Canopy & Customization Options
The CNHL Havok keeps the clear canopy from the original Havok airframe, which makes it an easy platform for light FPV modifications. Many pilots simply drop a small FPV camera into the cockpit area without cutting foam, while others install a scale pilot figure for added realism. The removable magnetic hatch gives clean access for wiring, and the airplane’s naturally stable tracking at speed makes it surprisingly friendly for simple FPV line-of-sight extensions.

This is not a full FPV race platform, but the airframe offers enough internal space and visibility to support lightweight FPV gear for casual speed passes or point-of-view flights.
Refined QC and Hardware Checks
Because this airframe is capable of high speed, small details matter. Before a CNHL Havok leaves our warehouse, we perform basic visual and mechanical checks on each unit:
- Inspecting the fuselage, wing and tail for shipping damage or major cosmetic defects.
- Verifying that servo mounts and the elevator mechanism are firmly glued and move freely.
- Checking that hardware bags are complete and control rods, ball links and horns are present.
It is still essential to perform your own pre-flight checks as with any high-performance aircraft, but these extra steps are aimed at reducing the chances of “unpleasant surprises” when you open the box.
Who Is the CNHL Havok For?
The CNHL Havok is not a beginner trainer. It is best suited for:
- Pilots who are already comfortable with aileron-equipped sport planes or warbirds.
- Those looking to move up from models like foam trainers, sport wings or moderate-speed racers.
- Speed lovers who want a convenient, hand-launched 1m racer rather than a large, runway-only model.
- Pilots who enjoy both high-energy passes and relaxed, long-glide flights in the same session.
If you are brand new to RC flight, we strongly recommend learning on a dedicated trainer first, then stepping up to the Havok once you can comfortably hand launch, fly a full pattern and land a fast model.
How the CNHL Havok Compares to Other 1000mm Sport Racer Planes
The 1000mm speed racer category has several well-known models, including the Durafly EFX / EFX Racer / EFXTRA series, the Eflite V900 and the Multiplex FunRacer. Experienced pilots may recognize the overall layout from platforms such as the Skynetic Havok Racer. While the new CNHL Havok shares the same 1-meter sport-racer DNA, it has been re-finished, re-equipped and refined into a more approachable, everyday high-speed flyer. Pilots who have flown these airplanes often describe the CNHL Havok as sitting in a sweet spot: fast enough to satisfy speed fans, yet far easier to hand launch, track and land.

In absolute top speed, dedicated hotliners like the V900 may edge it out when pushed to the limit, and the EFXTRA is known for its sharp vertical lines. The FunRacer has excellent energy retention and crisp control response. The CNHL Havok is not marketed as the “absolute fastest” of the group — but instead as the most forgiving and enjoyable all-around sport racer for everyday flying.
-
Compared to Durafly EFX / EFXTRA: pilots report the Havok is easier to hand launch and accepts far larger batteries, allowing longer flights or heavier packs for wind penetration.
-
Compared to Eflite V900: the Havok is more forgiving at slow speeds and less demanding on landing, with a wider usable flight envelope.
-
Compared to Multiplex FunRacer: similar “fun factor,” but the Havok offers a significantly larger battery bay and noticeably easier belly landings.
In short, the CNHL Havok aims to be the airplane you fly the most — the one you toss in the air at the beginning of every session because you know it will behave well no matter what mood you are in.
Recommended Radio Setup and CG
The CNHL Havok requires at least a 4-channel radio (throttle, aileron, elevator and rudder). Many pilots use 6-channel radios to add a gyro or flight mode options.
As a starting point:
-
CG: 73–78 mm back from the wing leading edge at the paint break (silver-to-white seam).
-
Elevator throws: start modest and add 25–35% expo for smoothness.
-
Aileron throws: moderate on low rate for general flying, higher rates for fast rolls.
-
Rudder: enough throw for coordinated turns and knife-edge attempts if desired.
These values can be adjusted to taste once you are comfortable with the model. A well-balanced Havok will track straight, roll around its center and feel locked-in at both high and low speeds.
