Tips: For best smoke performance, add a few drops of smoke fluid via the fill port only. Do not overfill. All sound/smoke/light functions can be toggled from the transmitter. Complex combined actions (e.g., driving while rotating turret and firing) increase battery consumption.
Setup Notes
Charge the 7.4V pack using the included USB charger (5V, 0.5–1.5A). Do not use fast-charge phone adapters.
Insert the battery, secure the hatch, then power on the tank before the transmitter to bind automatically.
Smoke fluid: open the hidden fill port, add a few drops, close the cap. Switch smoke on/off from the TX.
Headlight and searchlight can be controlled independently from the TX (separate switches).
Accessory parts are sharp; keep away from small children. This product is recommended for ages 14+.

Q: Is this tank ready to run out of the box?
A: Yes. The M5A1 is RTR. Install 4×AA batteries in the transmitter, charge the included 7.4V pack, and you’re ready.
Q: Can I turn the sound, smoke, or lights off?
A: Absolutely. All effects (engine/MG sounds, smoke, headlights & searchlight) are switchable from the transmitter.
Q: How long does one charge last?
A: Typical run time is around 20 minutes per charge, depending on speed and effect usage (sound/smoke consume more power).
Q: What’s the control range and turret capability?
A: Control range is up to ~120 m in open areas. The turret rotates a full 360°, and the main gun elevates/depresses with linked recoil when firing.
Q: Can I upgrade the battery?
A: The model uses a 7.4V (2S) pack. Experienced users may use a higher-capacity 2S pack of similar size/connector. Always charge with a suitable 2S charger and observe safety guidelines.
Q: Is the drive proportional or just two-speed?
A: Drive is proportional for smooth throttle/steering control. You can also select between two overall speed ranges from the transmitter.

Finally!
The Horten 229 is one of my biggest fascinations in aviation and this parkflyer-size RC version is a dream come true! Although made of EPO, the quality of the model is very good and it comes with landing gear, battery, and carrying case. It's also good for static display. I haven't flown it yet as I'm waiting for my LiHV charger but I plan on getting a second one just in case.
That model is a masterpiece! From the aerodynamics over the details, light weight construction and the flawless handling qualities and impressive performance, all for a very fair price and in a cool package!

Opening the box was so exciting! The plane is beautiful. Amazingly light weight, but durable.
I am so enthusiastic about this, I will demonstrating mine in my booth in the C building, #3113, at the Oshkosh Air Show the week of July 20, 2026.
I will also be taking orders for them to benefit my charity, Friends of British Aviation Heritage, which is raising money to not only to help attach the wings to the real Horten 229, but to help with restoration of another plane soon to go on display in England.
I ordered 3x 2000mha and 3x 4000mha lipo batteries and a pack of deans to traxxas plug adapters.
Usps was slow on their scans, and shipping as usual. Customer service was able to help sort out the shipping.
My items arrived before the estimated flight delivery date, which was a surprise considering 😆.
Everything works perfect out of the package, except for 1 battery, which I will be contacting customer service about.
Even with the one battery that was bad... I've thoroughly enjoyed the batteries. They proved great run time and power. They haven't got hot, and my son and I run our trucks pretty hard lol 😆.
