CNHL Bison XT STOL 1750mm PNP RC Airplane (Orange)

CNHL Bison XT STOL V2 is a large high-wing bush-style aircraft built for slow, confident flying, short-field takeoffs, and FPV-style cruising. This is the orange CNHL version for pilots who want a practical STOL platform with strong presence in the air and clear visibility up front.

PNP (Plug-N-Play) means the power system and servos are installed. Add your receiver, battery, and charger, then finish setup and CG.

What’s Improved on the CNHL Bison XT STOL

CNHL Bison XT STOL upgraded inflatable tundra tires improved sealing and factory bonding stability

We paid attention to the real issues pilots repeatedly mention on similar versions of this airframe. From the factory, this CNHL version uses an upgraded wheel approach focused on:

  • Better sealing to reduce slow air loss through the valve area
  • More stable factory bonding to improve out-of-box consistency

CNHL Bison XT STOL clearer front canopy material optimized for HD FPV camera visibility

The front cabin canopy on this CNHL version uses a clearer material, aimed at improving HD FPV viewing and forward visibility. If you fly low and slow and actually want to see what your camera sees, this detail matters.

STOL Wing + Flaps/Slats: Use It Your Way

CNHL Bison XT STOL wing flaps and leading edge slats high lift configuration

This platform is all about controlled low-speed handling. It includes flaps and leading-edge slats for short takeoffs and slower approaches.

Important note from real pilot feedback on similar versions: some pilots prefer locking the slats closed or flying with slats disconnected, depending on their setup and style. That flexibility is a good thing. Treat slats as an option you tune, not a feature you must use on day one.

Landing Gear Built for Real Surfaces

CNHL Bison XT STOL metal landing gear suspension bush plane undercarriage

A bush plane lives and dies by its gear. The Bison uses a metal undercarriage layout designed for rougher fields than a smooth runway. Pair that with the inflatable tires and you get a setup that’s meant to be used, not babied.

Before the Maiden: Quick Setup Checklist

Owners of similar airframes often mention a few common setup issues. Here’s what to check before the first flight:

  • Control horns and linkages: verify horn screws are fully seated and secured (especially ailerons).
  • Wing fit and strut screws: dry-fit, then tighten gradually; avoid over-torquing small screws.
  • Flap servo test: cycle flaps repeatedly on the bench and listen for jitter or stutter before flying.
  • Lighting controller: confirm wiring is clean and components stay cool during a few minutes of power-on testing.
  • Tire pressure: inflate to your field conditions; re-check after the first few taxi tests.

This is a big, capable foam STOL platform. Like most large PNP aircraft, a careful setup is what turns it from “looks great” into “flies great.”

Spare Parts and Foam Replacement

A big STOL bush plane is meant to be flown off real surfaces—grass, dirt, and the occasional less-than-perfect landing. That’s part of the fun. It also means it’s smart to know where your common wear items live before you need them.

If you want to keep your Bison flying season after season, here’s the dedicated place for the parts most pilots care about:
