CNHL Racing Series 6400mAh 7.6V 2S 130C LiHV shorty hardcase battery with 5mm bullet to XT60 lead

6400mAh Capacity in a 96mm Shorty Battery

The main advantage of this battery is the amount of energy packed into a compact 96mm shorty format.

At 6400mAh, it provides substantially more capacity than lightweight shorty batteries in the 4000–5000mAh class while retaining the short battery length used by many modern racing chassis.

This makes the pack especially useful for drivers who want longer practice sessions, longer mains or fewer battery changes without switching to a conventional 139mm full-length hardcase.

The tradeoff is battery mass. At approximately 218g, this is not intended to be the lightest possible shorty setup. Instead, it offers a balance of high capacity, compact length and useful chassis weight.

Why Choose This Battery?

  • 6400mAh capacity: High energy reserve for longer races, practice sessions and trail use.
  • 96mm shorty length: Fits compact battery layouts without requiring a full-length hardcase.
  • 24mm profile: Lower profile than many conventional high-capacity hardcase batteries.
  • 130C continuous output: Designed for demanding brushless RC racing systems.
  • 5mm bullet interface: Modular hardcase connection commonly used in performance RC applications.
  • XT60 output lead: Useful for vehicles already configured around XT60.
  • LiHV chemistry: Supports up to 8.70V full charge when the complete electronics are rated for it.

More Runtime for the HPI Stage D10 in a Shorty Battery Format

The CNHL Racing Series LiHV 6400mAh 2S 130C Shorty gives HPI Stage D10 drivers a higher-capacity alternative to ultra-light shorty batteries while retaining the compact 96mm battery length.

At approximately 96 × 46 × 24mm and 218g, this pack is particularly useful for longer drift practice sessions where reducing the number of battery changes matters more than achieving the absolute minimum chassis weight.

The additional mass also changes the way the Stage D10 behaves. Compared with a lightweight 4600mAh shorty pack, the 6400mAh battery can place more mass within the adjustable battery area, creating another chassis-tuning variable for rear traction, transitions and overall stability.

This does not mean heavier is automatically better. Drivers looking for the quickest response may prefer a lighter battery, while the 6400mAh pack favors drivers who want more energy reserve and a more settled setup.

The XT60 output lead also suits Stage D10 configurations using an XT60 vehicle-side power connection.

2S Shorty Battery for Team Associated RC10B7.1 & RC10B7.1D

The CNHL Racing Series 6400mAh 2S LiHV Shorty is also relevant to compatible Team Associated RC10B7.1 and RC10B7.1D builds where a higher-capacity shorty battery is preferred.

The 96mm length matches the general shorty battery format widely used in modern 1/10 racing buggies, while the 6400mAh capacity favors longer race distances and sustained practice sessions.

Battery mass also becomes part of chassis setup. A 218g shorty pack can make the car feel more planted than a lightweight battery, particularly on rough or lower-grip surfaces, but drivers prioritizing rapid weight transfer may prefer a lighter alternative.

The 130C rating provides substantial current capability for modern modified and stock racing power systems, although actual battery load is determined by the motor, ESC, gearing, track grip and driving style.

Compare lighter and higher-capacity options in the 2S Shorty Battery Collection for Team Associated RC10B7.1 & RC10B7.1D.

2S Shorty Setup for TLR 22X-4 2.0 AC & DC

The 96mm shorty format also makes this pack relevant to the TLR 22X-4 2.0 platform when battery dimensions and chassis configuration match.

For both AC and DC configurations, battery selection affects more than runtime. Fore-aft placement, battery weight and overall chassis balance can influence rotation, traction and stability.

The 6400mAh battery favors longer sessions and higher energy reserve, while a lighter shorty pack may be more suitable when minimum mass and fast weight transfer are the priority.

See more appropriately sized packs in the TLR 22X-4 2.0 Battery Collection.

2S LiHV Shorty Battery for RC Touring Cars

This battery can also be considered for compatible RC touring car chassis that accept a 96mm shorty battery rather than requiring a full-length pack.

A shorty battery changes the distribution of mass within the chassis compared with a conventional long pack. Depending on the car and mounting system, this can create additional freedom for fore-aft battery positioning and balance tuning.

The 6400mAh capacity is particularly useful for practice and club racing where long run duration is valuable, while the 130C rating provides current capability for demanding brushless setups.

High-Capacity Shorty Battery for FMS FCX10 Builds

The compact 96mm battery length also makes this pack relevant to compatible FMS FCX10 trail and scale builds where a high-capacity 2S battery can be securely installed.

For crawler use, the 6400mAh capacity offers substantial energy for longer trail sessions. The tradeoff is the approximately 218g battery weight, so battery position should be considered carefully when tuning climbing balance and side-hill stability.

The shorty format can provide more positioning flexibility than a full-length hardcase, but the exact FCX10 version, tray dimensions, strap arrangement, XT60 wiring and maximum voltage still need to be checked.

6400mAh vs. 4600mAh Ultra-Thin Shorty

Feature 6400mAh Shorty 4600mAh Ultra-Thin Shorty
Capacity 6400mAh 4600mAh
Dimensions 96 × 46 × 24mm 96 × 46 × 18mm
Approx. Weight 218g 167.5g
Capacity Difference About 39% more rated capacity Lower capacity
Weight Difference Approx. 50.5g heavier Approx. 50.5g lighter
Main Priority Runtime and planted chassis feel Low profile, low mass and response
Best Direction Long practice sessions and endurance-focused setups Weight-sensitive drift and racing setups

The 6400mAh version carries approximately 39% more rated capacity than the 4600mAh pack while adding about 50.5g and 6mm of thickness. The better choice therefore depends on whether runtime or minimum battery mass is more important to the chassis setup.

5mm Bullet Interface and XT60 Output Lead

This shorty hardcase battery uses a 5mm bullet battery interface. The supplied output arrangement connects the battery to an XT60 vehicle-side power connection.

This differs from a softcase battery with an XT60 cable permanently attached to the battery itself. The modular hardcase arrangement allows the external lead to be routed according to the chassis layout.

If your vehicle uses EC3, IC3, EC5, IC5, T/Dean or another connector, XT60 does not connect directly. Use an appropriately rated lead, adapter or professional connector conversion.

LiHV Charging and Maximum Voltage

This is a 2S LiHV battery. When fully charged in LiHV mode, the pack reaches a maximum of 4.35V per cell, or 8.70V total.

The older 4.38V figure sometimes found in legacy battery descriptions should not be used as the charging target. Do not exceed 4.35V per cell.

A vehicle being described simply as “2S compatible” does not automatically confirm support for 8.70V. Some ESCs are designed around the 8.40V maximum voltage of a standard 2S LiPo battery.

If full LiHV support has not been confirmed, this battery can be balance charged to the standard LiPo limit of 4.20V per cell, or 8.40V total.

The 5C specification is the maximum charge rate. For routine charging, a balanced 1C charge rate is preferred when charging speed is not the priority.
