The Hobbywing QUICRUN WP 10BL60 G2 is a 60A waterproof brushless ESC designed for suitable 1/10 scale on-road cars, off-road buggies and short course trucks. It supports 2S and 3S LiPo power and includes a built-in cooling fan for more consistent temperature control.

Compared with the previous generation, the G2 version combines intelligent freewheeling technology, a more compact housing, an upgraded heat-dissipation structure and capacitor overheat protection. It is designed to deliver reliable everyday performance without the complexity of a competition-level sensored system.

This is a sensorless brushless ESC. A sensored brushless motor may be connected, but it will operate in sensorless mode because the ESC does not use the motor sensor cable. A battery connector is not pre-installed and must be added separately.

Quick Fit Check

Vehicle: Designed for suitable 1/10 scale on-road cars, off-road buggies and short course trucks.

Battery: Supports 2-3S LiPo. No battery connector is pre-installed, so a compatible plug must be soldered to the 14AWG input wires.

Motor: Use a suitable brushless motor up to 6000KV on 2S or up to 3500KV on 3S. Recommended 3S systems normally use a 3652 or 3660-size motor.

Motor Connection: Three 4.0mm female bullet connectors are pre-installed. Sensored brushless motors operate in sensorless mode only.

BEC: Fixed switch-mode 6V/3A output. There is no selectable 7.4V BEC setting.

Fan and Programming: The cooling fan and compatible program box use the same port. Disconnect the fan before programming.

Why Choose the QUICRUN WP 10BL60 G2?

60A Brushless Power

Provides 60A continuous and 360A peak current for suitable 1/10 brushless RC platforms.

Intelligent Freewheeling

Improves electrical efficiency and helps reduce operating temperature during partial-throttle driving.

Active Fan Cooling

A mesh-style heat sink, copper thermal paths and built-in fan help move heat away from the power system.

Capacitor Protection

Capacitor overheat protection provides an additional safeguard during excessive thermal load.

IP67-Rated Protection

Designed for normal RC use around rain, splashes, dust, sand and muddy surfaces.

More Compact G2 Housing

The shorter and narrower design makes chassis layout and wire routing easier.

Intelligent Freewheeling for Lower Heat

The QUICRUN WP 10BL60 G2 uses intelligent freewheeling technology to improve drive efficiency during partial-throttle operation. By reducing unnecessary electrical loss, the ESC can operate at a lower temperature and maintain more consistent performance during longer driving sessions.

Intelligent freewheeling cannot compensate for an overloaded setup. Motor KV, gearing, tire diameter, vehicle weight, drivetrain resistance, ambient temperature and driving style must still be considered.

Smaller and Easier to Install

The G2 housing is 2.5mm shorter and 1.5mm narrower than the previous QUICRUN WP 10BL60. The reduced footprint leaves more room for receiver placement, battery wiring and cleaner chassis organization.

The current ESC measures 46 × 36.5 × 34.3mm. Measure the available electronics tray and check body clearance before ordering, especially when the cooling fan is installed directly above the ESC.

Efficient Heat Sink and Fan Cooling

The ESC combines a mesh-pattern heat-sink cover, copper thermal paths on each motor phase and a 30 × 30 × 10mm cooling fan. These components work together to conduct heat away from the power board and maintain airflow over the heat sink.

The fan runs from the built-in 6V BEC. Keep the fan blades clear of wires and debris, and inspect the fan after use in dusty, sandy or muddy environments.

A cooling fan improves heat management, but it does not make an overloaded motor and gearing combination safe. If the ESC repeatedly enters thermal protection, reduce the gearing or vehicle load and inspect the drivetrain.

Capacitor Overheat Protection

The QUICRUN WP 10BL60 G2 includes capacitor overheat protection in addition to its standard low-voltage, ESC overheat and overcurrent protection functions.

If excessive capacitor temperature is detected, the ESC enters protection and reports the condition through a repeating five-flash green LED pattern. Stop the vehicle and allow the system to cool before checking gearing, motor load, wiring and battery condition.

This protection is an emergency safeguard rather than a substitute for correct system setup. Repeated activation indicates that the electrical or thermal load should be reduced.

Choosing a 2S or 3S Motor Setup

Battery Recommended Motor Limit Typical Direction Important Check
2S LiPo KV ≤ 6000 Responsive general-purpose 1/10 setup Monitor gearing, motor temperature, tire size and vehicle weight.
3S LiPo KV ≤ 3500, normally 3652 or 3660 size Higher-voltage setup using a motor specifically rated for 3S Do not move a high-KV 2S motor directly into a 3S system.

Suitable 1/10 RC Applications

The Hobbywing QUICRUN WP 10BL60 G2 is intended for suitable recreational 1/10 scale platforms, including:

  • 1/10 on-road RC cars
  • 1/10 off-road buggies
  • 1/10 short course trucks
  • Suitable brushed-to-brushless conversion projects

Scale alone does not guarantee compatibility. Heavy vehicles, oversized tires, tall gearing and high-grip surfaces can place substantially more load on the ESC than a lightweight 1/10 buggy or on-road platform.

IP67-Rated Protection for Outdoor Driving

The sealed ESC carries an IP67 protection rating under normal operating conditions. It is designed to resist common outdoor exposure involving rain, splashes, dust and sand.

IP67 does not mean the ESC should remain underwater. Do not intentionally submerge it for extended periods. After wet or dirty use, disconnect the battery, remove debris and allow the electronics to dry fully before storage.

Water and dust resistance are not permanent. Impact damage, worn seals, damaged wires and normal aging can reduce protection over time. The cooling fan should also be checked and cleaned after use in dirty environments.

Three Programming Methods

The ESC supports three current programming methods:

ESC SET Button

Complete throttle calibration, factory reset and parameter adjustment without a separate program box.

LED Program Box

Provides a quick way to view and change common ESC parameters.

LCD Program Box Pro

Uses a larger display for reviewing and changing compatible settings.

Shared Fan and Programming Port

The cooling fan and compatible program box use the same physical port. To program the ESC with an LED Program Box or LCD Program Box Pro, switch off the ESC, disconnect the cooling fan and connect the program box to the fan port using the correct polarity.

Important: connecting the program box to the receiver throttle cable will not work. Reconnect the cooling fan after programming is complete.

Adjustable ESC Parameters

Available settings include:

  • Running mode
  • Low-voltage cutoff
  • Punch level
  • Drag brake force
  • Maximum brake force
  • Maximum reverse force
  • Neutral range
  • Motor timing
  • LiPo cell count

The BEC voltage is fixed at 6V and is not a programmable item on the WP 10BL60 G2.

Available Running Modes

Mode Operation Typical Use
Forward with Brake Forward and proportional braking only Racing or applications where reverse is not required
Forward/Reverse with Brake Brake is applied before reverse engages General bashing and everyday RC driving
Forward with Reverse Reverse responds directly when commanded Special vehicle setups requiring direct reverse response

Throttle Calibration and Protection Status

Throttle range calibration should be completed when the ESC is first installed, when the transmitter is replaced or when the throttle trim or travel settings are changed.

The ESC LEDs indicate operating and protection conditions:

  • A repeating red flash indicates low-voltage protection.
  • A repeating single green flash indicates ESC overheat protection.
  • Three repeating green flashes indicate overcurrent protection.
  • Five repeating green flashes indicate capacitor overheat protection.

If protection is triggered, stop the vehicle and inspect the battery voltage, motor load, gearing, drivetrain resistance, fan operation and system temperature before continuing.
