Quick Fit Check

The CNHL Racing Series LiHV 8200mAh 15.2V 4S 120C Hardcase LiPo Battery with EC5 Plug is a high-capacity 4S battery for large RC cars, trucks, boats and other demanding electric platforms where runtime, current capability and physical battery protection all matter.

At approximately 139 × 47 × 48mm (L × W × H) and 643g, this pack combines 8200mAh of rated capacity with a full hardcase enclosure, 10AWG wiring and an EC5 connector for high-load applications.

Because this is a LiHV battery, a full charge reaches 17.4V. A model described only as “4S compatible” does not automatically confirm support for that voltage. Verify the ESC's maximum input voltage before charging above the standard 16.8V 4S LiPo limit.

CNHL Racing Series LiHV 8200mAh 15.2V 4S 120C hardcase battery with EC5 plug

8200mAh High-Capacity 4S Power for Long, High-Load Runs

The defining feature of the CNHL Racing Series 8200mAh 4S LiHV is the combination of high capacity and high stated discharge capability.

The 8200mAh capacity gives large RC vehicles and boats substantial stored energy for longer sessions, while the 120C continuous rating is intended for demanding brushless power systems where repeated acceleration and sustained load matter.

At approximately 643g, this is not a lightweight competition pack. Its priority is energy reserve, stable power delivery and hardcase protection rather than minimum chassis mass.

That makes it especially relevant to large-scale bashers, 1/8 platforms, high-power boats and dual-pack 8S systems where the vehicle can use the additional battery capacity without compromising balance or mechanical durability.

Why Choose This Battery?

  • 8200mAh capacity: High energy reserve for long driving and boating sessions.
  • 120C continuous rating: Designed for demanding brushless power systems.
  • 139mm hardcase format: Conventional full-length footprint for compatible large RC battery trays.
  • Hardcase protection: Helps protect the cells in cars, trucks and other exposed chassis environments.
  • 10AWG wiring: Appropriate for high-current 4S and paired 8S applications.
  • EC5 connector: High-current connector physically compatible with IC5 main power interfaces.
  • LiHV chemistry: Supports up to 17.4V full charge when the complete power system is rated for it.

8200mAh 4S Battery Option for the Proboat Blackjack 42 8S

The CNHL Racing Series LiHV 8200mAh 4S 120C Hardcase is a strong high-capacity battery option for compatible Proboat Blackjack 42 8S setups.

The Blackjack 42 uses two matched 4S batteries in series for its 8S power system. Two identical 8200mAh packs therefore create an 8S 8200mAh LiHV setup, not 16400mAh.

Blackjack 42 Setup Battery Arrangement Nominal Voltage Full LiHV Voltage Capacity
8S LiHV 2 × matching 4S 8200mAh packs in series 30.4V 34.8V 8200mAh

At approximately 643g per pack, the battery pair weighs about 1286g before wiring is included. That places this setup toward the heavier, higher-capacity side of the Blackjack 42 battery spectrum.

Battery position therefore matters. Install both packs symmetrically, secure them firmly, and use battery position as part of the hull-balance setup rather than assuming the most rearward position will always be fastest or safest.

The EC5 connector is physically compatible with the Blackjack 42's corresponding IC5 main power interface, but this CNHL pack is not a Spektrum Smart battery and does not provide Smart battery-data communication.

FMS 1/7 Ford Bronco RTR EB Battery Option

The 8200mAh 4S LiHV hardcase can also be considered for compatible FMS 1/7 Ford Bronco RTR EB setups where high capacity and a full-length hardcase battery suit the vehicle.

In a large RC vehicle, additional capacity can reduce the frequency of battery changes during long trail or driving sessions. The tradeoff is the approximately 643g pack weight, which influences total vehicle mass, suspension response and weight distribution.

Before installation, confirm the battery tray accepts the 139 × 47 × 48mm hardcase, verify the EC5 connection, and check whether the vehicle electronics support the selected LiHV charge voltage.

Dual 4S Battery Direction for Traxxas X-Monster 8S

A matched pair of these batteries can also be considered for compatible Traxxas X-Monster 8S setups when the battery trays, wiring and connector arrangement suit the installation.

Two 4S packs in series create an 8S power system while capacity remains 8200mAh. At full LiHV charge, the pair can reach 34.8V, so the ESC must support that maximum voltage before full LiHV charging is used.

Because this battery uses EC5 rather than the native connector used by some Traxxas installations, a correctly rated adapter or professional connector conversion may be required.

See more battery options in the Traxxas X-Monster Battery Collection.

High-Load 1/8 RC Car and Truck Applications

The 8200mAh capacity also makes this pack relevant to large 1/8 electric trucks, truggies and bashers designed around 4S power.

Platforms in the Tekno ET48 / MT48 class and other high-load builds may benefit from a high-capacity pack when the exact chassis accepts the battery dimensions and weight.

However, battery selection should not be based on vehicle scale alone. Check the actual tray length, width and height, strap arrangement, connector, ESC voltage limit and suspension setup before installation.

The approximately 643g pack weight may create a more planted vehicle feel, but it also adds inertia and suspension load. Drivers prioritizing rapid direction changes may prefer a lighter pack even if it offers less runtime.

Fishing Drone and Heavy-Lift 4S Applications

This battery can also be considered for selected 4S fishing drones and heavy-lift platforms when the aircraft is designed to accommodate the battery's 8200mAh capacity and approximately 643g weight.

For fishing drones, the benefit of a high-capacity battery is additional stored energy for outbound flight, payload release and return reserve. The tradeoff is additional takeoff weight, which can reduce payload margin and affect flight efficiency.

For platforms such as the Poseidon II Pro Black, confirm battery-compartment dimensions, connector type, maximum takeoff weight and the complete power-system voltage limit before use.

If the drone uses XT60 or XT90 rather than EC5, compare suitable conversion options in the EC5 to XT60 / XT90 Adapter Collection.

EC5 and IC5 Connector Compatibility

EC5 and IC5 are physically compatible at the main positive and negative power connection. This EC5 battery can therefore provide normal power through a corresponding IC5 device-side connector when polarity and orientation are correct.

This CNHL pack is not a Spektrum Smart battery and does not include Smart battery electronics or Smart data communication.

When used with an IC5-equipped model or ESC, normal main power can be supplied, but Smart battery identification, automatic battery data and related Smart functions will not be available.

LiHV Charging and Maximum Voltage

This is a 4S LiHV battery. A full LiHV charge reaches 4.35V per cell, or 17.4V total.

A standard 4S LiPo reaches 4.20V per cell, or 16.8V total. Do not assume full LiHV compatibility simply because an ESC is rated for 4S operation.

Confirm the manufacturer's maximum input-voltage specification before charging above 16.8V.

If full LiHV support has not been confirmed, this battery can be balance charged to the standard LiPo limit of 16.8V / 4.20V per cell.

For routine charging, a balanced 1C rate is preferred. 5C is the stated maximum, not the everyday target.
