The Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140A is a high-output sensored and sensorless brushless ESC designed for powerful 1/10 scale RC trucks, short course trucks and monster trucks. Rated for 2-4S LiPo operation with 140A continuous current and 880A peak current, it is built for drivers who need strong acceleration, smooth low-speed response and enough power headroom for high-performance 3S and 4S surface builds.

Compared with the previous MAX10 generation, the G2 platform adds an improved waterproof sensor interface, upgraded sensored operation, intelligent freewheeling, temperature-controlled frameless cooling, a larger protected capacitor system and advanced Turbo Timing. When used with compatible Hobbywing EZRun SD G3 sensored motors, the system is designed to provide a more connected throttle feel across the RPM range while retaining the flexibility to operate sensorless brushless motors.

The MAX10 G2 140A also includes a 6V / 7.4V adjustable 5A switch-mode BEC, independent programming port and support for optional Hobbywing OTA Bluetooth programming and data logging.

Improved Waterproof Sensor Interface

One of the most important changes in the MAX10 G2 is the redesigned sensored system. Hobbywing uses an improved waterproof sensor-cable interface together with upgraded sensored control to improve response while protecting the connection from the wet, dusty and dirty conditions commonly encountered by 1/10 trucks and monster trucks.

When paired with matching EZRun 3652SD / 3665SD G3 sensored motors, the ESC can operate as a complete sensored power system for smoother startup, more predictable low-speed control and stronger throttle connection.

Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140A upgraded waterproof sensored mode with EZRun 3652SD and 3665SD G3 brushless motors
Motor temperature protection note: Motor thermal protection requires a supported Hobbywing sensored motor such as the EZRun 3652SD or 3665SD G3. Do not assume motor-temperature protection is available with every third-party sensored motor.

140A Power for 3S and 4S 1/10 Builds

With a 140A continuous and 880A peak current rating, the MAX10 G2 140A sits well above ordinary sport-level 1/10 ESCs. It is intended for heavier tires, stronger motors and higher-load applications where acceleration and repeated throttle transitions place significant demand on the power system.

On 3S, Hobbywing recommends up to a 4000KV 3665-size motor under its standard application conditions. On 4S, the published guidance moves to a larger 4268-size motor at up to 2600KV.

These are application recommendations rather than a guarantee that every motor, gearing and tire combination within those numbers will operate safely. Vehicle weight, gearing, tire diameter, surface grip, ambient temperature and driving style can all change ESC and motor load.

Turbo Timing Up to 32 Degrees

The MAX10 G2 140A supports up to 32° of Turbo Timing. Turbo Timing adds electronic timing when the throttle reaches the configured condition, allowing additional motor RPM at the upper end of the throttle range.

When the MAX10 G2 is paired with the matched Hobbywing EZRun 3652SD / 3665SD G3 power system, Hobbywing promotes up to approximately 25% higher maximum speed under its referenced test and setup conditions.

That figure should not be treated as a guaranteed 25% vehicle-speed increase for every RC car. Actual speed depends on motor KV, gearing, battery voltage, battery voltage sag, tire diameter, vehicle load and aerodynamic drag. Higher Turbo Timing also increases current and temperature, so timing should be increased progressively rather than simply set to maximum.

Intelligent Freewheeling for Higher Efficiency

Hobbywing's intelligent freewheeling technology is designed to improve driving efficiency during partial-throttle operation. Compared with the previous MAX10, Hobbywing states that the G2 platform can operate at temperatures approximately 25°C lower under its referenced comparison conditions.

Lower operating temperature creates more thermal headroom during long bash sessions, repeated acceleration and high-load driving. It also reduces how much of the ESC's performance envelope is consumed simply dealing with heat.

74% Larger Capacitor Capacity

The MAX10 G2 also upgrades the power-conditioning side of the ESC. Hobbywing states that total capacitor capacity has increased by approximately 74% compared with the previous MAX10 generation.

A larger capacitor system helps handle rapid current changes between the battery and ESC during hard launches and repeated acceleration. The capacitor system also includes thermal protection, adding another layer of protection when the ESC is operated under demanding conditions.

Temperature-Controlled Frameless Cooling Fan

The MAX10 G2 uses Hobbywing's frameless fan design to move cooling air across the ESC's integrated heat-dissipation structure. The fan is temperature controlled rather than running continuously.

When ESC temperature is low, the fan remains off to reduce noise and electrical consumption. Once temperature reaches the programmed control threshold, the fan automatically operates to increase airflow.

IP67 Protection for Real RC Conditions

The MAX10 G2 power system is designed around an IP67-rated waterproof and dust-resistant architecture, making it suitable for the mixed conditions commonly encountered by trucks and monster trucks: wet pavement, mud, dust, sand, snow and water splash.

The upgraded sensor interface is especially important here because the sensor connection is traditionally one of the more exposed points in a sensored brushless system.

Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 G2 140A IP67 waterproof and dustproof ESC for mud water snow and all-weather RC driving
Waterproof use: Waterproof protection is intended to improve reliability during normal RC operation in wet and dirty environments. After wet running, inspect and dry the vehicle and connectors appropriately. Waterproof does not mean the complete power system should be left submerged for extended periods.

6V / 7.4V Adjustable 5A BEC

The built-in switch-mode BEC provides 5A continuous output with selectable 6V or 7.4V voltage.

This allows the MAX10 G2 to support both conventional receiver-side electronics and compatible high-voltage steering servos without automatically requiring an external BEC.

Always check the maximum operating voltage of the receiver, servo and other receiver-powered accessories before selecting 7.4V BEC output. Do not select 7.4V simply because the ESC supports it.

Real-Time Data Logging with Optional OTA Bluetooth

The MAX10 G2 140A supports Hobbywing HW LINK data monitoring, but unlike some newer Hobbywing ESCs, Bluetooth is not built directly into this ESC. An optional Hobbywing OTA Bluetooth module must be connected to the independent programming port.

Once connected, the HW LINK app can display operating information such as throttle position, ESC voltage, current, ESC temperature, motor temperature and RPM when supported by the connected system. Historical running data can also be reviewed through the data-log interface.

Installation Notice

Before installation, confirm battery polarity, LiPo cell count, motor KV, motor size, gearing, tire diameter, receiver connection, BEC voltage, cooling, sensor-cable orientation and wire routing. When using a sensored motor, connect the A/B/C motor phases to the corresponding A/B/C ESC outputs and connect the sensor cable correctly.

Recalibrate the throttle range when the ESC is first installed, when changing transmitters, or after significant throttle-channel setting changes. Set the transmitter failsafe so the throttle returns to neutral or output is disabled if the radio signal is lost.

Always disconnect the LiPo battery after use. Do not select maximum Turbo, Punch or gearing simply because the ESC supports the setting; motor temperature, ESC temperature, battery load and drivetrain stress should be checked after setup changes.
