Quick Fit Check

The CNHL MiniStar 1800mAh 14.8V 4S 120C LiPo Battery with XT60 Plug is a compact high-performance 4S battery for speed-oriented RC airplanes, FPV aircraft and other lightweight brushless models that need strong current capability without carrying the size and weight of a larger 2200–3000mAh pack.

At approximately 86 × 38.5 × 34mm (L × W × H) and 209g, the pack stays relatively compact for a 4S battery while providing 1800mAh of usable capacity and a 120C continuous discharge rating.

The 1800mAh 4S format is particularly relevant to compact high-speed fixed-wing aircraft such as the Durafly EFXtra and current EFX Racer, where battery weight, center of gravity and acceleration all matter.

CNHL MiniStar 1800mAh 14.8V 4S 120C LiPo battery with XT60 plug

Compact 1800mAh 4S Power for High-Performance RC Aircraft

The CNHL MiniStar 1800mAh 4S 120C is aimed at models that need the additional voltage of a 4S power system without carrying the size and weight of a large-capacity battery.

Its approximately 209g weight makes the pack especially relevant to compact speed aircraft, FPV airplanes and other performance-focused models where battery mass directly affects acceleration, center of gravity and control response.

The 120C continuous and 240C burst ratings provide substantial stated discharge capability for high-load brushless systems. Actual current draw is still determined by the motor, ESC, propeller, EDF unit and operating conditions.

Why Choose This Battery?

  • 1800mAh capacity: A useful performance-oriented capacity for compact 4S aircraft.
  • Approx. 209g weight: Helps keep high-speed fixed-wing models relatively light.
  • 86mm length: Compact format for tighter battery compartments.
  • 120C continuous rating: Designed for demanding 4S brushless systems.
  • XT60 connector: Commonly used by performance RC airplanes and FPV platforms.
  • Standard 4S LiPo: Charges to 16.8V and does not require LiHV charging mode.

A Strong 4S Battery Choice for Durafly EFXtra and EFX Racer

The CNHL MiniStar 1800mAh 14.8V 4S 120C LiPo Battery with XT60 Plug is a particularly strong performance-oriented battery choice for the Durafly EFXtra and current EFX Racer.

Unlike a lower-capacity 3S alternative, 1800mAh 4S sits directly in the core performance direction of these compact speed racers. It provides the higher voltage associated with their 4S setups while keeping battery capacity and installed mass relatively conservative.

At approximately 209g, the MiniStar 1800mAh 4S helps preserve the quick acceleration and responsive feel expected from a compact high-speed aircraft rather than adding the additional mass of a much larger 2200–2600mAh 4S pack.

The 120C continuous rating is also well aligned with the short bursts of high current common during launch, vertical acceleration and full-throttle speed passes.

Battery installation should still be checked for physical clearance, secure retention, wire routing and final center of gravity before flight.

Compare this 1800mAh 4S performance setup with additional 3S and 4S choices in the Durafly EFXtra and EFX Racer Battery Collection.

4S Battery Option for the TBS Chupito 800mm FPV Airplane

The compact 1800mAh format also makes this battery relevant to compatible TBS Chupito 800mm FPV Airplane setups using 4S power.

For an FPV airplane, capacity should be considered together with battery mass. A larger battery may provide more potential cruising time, but additional weight can affect launch characteristics, stall speed, center of gravity and overall efficiency.

The 1800mAh MiniStar offers a middle ground between smaller 1300–1500mAh packs and heavier 2000mAh-plus batteries, making it useful when the aircraft can accommodate the additional energy without compromising balance.

Compare additional capacities in the TBS Chupito 800mm FPV Airplane Battery Collection.

4S Battery for FPV and Freestyle Builds

The combination of 1800mAh capacity, XT60 connection and 120C rating also makes this pack relevant to compatible FPV and freestyle builds designed around 4S power.

For multirotors, battery selection should take into account frame size, motor KV, propeller size, takeoff weight and intended flying style. An 1800mAh pack can provide more energy than the common 1300–1550mAh freestyle battery class, but the additional battery mass changes handling and momentum.

This makes the 1800mAh format particularly useful when longer cruising or mixed freestyle operation is more important than achieving the lowest possible takeoff weight.

1800mAh vs. 1500–1550mAh vs. 2000mAh 4S

Priority 1500–1550mAh 1800mAh 2000mAh
Energy Reserve Lower Balanced Higher
Weight Direction Usually lightest Middle ground Usually heavier
Aircraft Feel Most responsive Performance + useful reserve More endurance-oriented
Best Direction Minimum mass and agility Balanced 4S performance More capacity where the model allows

Battery weight varies by model, so capacity alone should not be used to predict aircraft handling. Always compare the actual dimensions and weight of the specific packs being considered.

More 4S Battery Options

For additional capacity, compare the CNHL Black Series 2000mAh 4S 100C with XT60.

For a lighter high-discharge setup, compare the 2 Packs CNHL Black Series V2.0 1500mAh 4S 130C with XT60.

For even higher stated discharge capability in the 1550mAh class, compare the CNHL Ultra Black 1550mAh 4S 150C with XT60.

XT60 Connector

This battery uses an XT60 output connector, a common power connection for performance RC airplanes, FPV aircraft and multirotors.

The pack connects directly only when the model uses the corresponding XT60 device-side connector with correct polarity.

XT60 is not directly compatible with EC3, IC3, EC5 or IC5. Models using those connector systems require an appropriately rated adapter or professional connector conversion.

Standard 4S LiPo Charging

This is a standard 4S LiPo battery. Maximum balanced charge voltage is 4.20V per cell, or 16.80V total.

Do not use a 4.35V-per-cell LiHV charging mode with this battery.

The stated 5C value is the maximum charge rate. For routine charging, a balanced 1C rate is preferred. 5C is the stated maximum, not the everyday target.
