The Hobbywing XRotor PRO 50A Wire Leaded ESC Dual Pack includes two dedicated multirotor brushless ESCs for 4-6S LiPo power systems. Each ESC is rated for 50A continuous current and 70A peak current for 10 seconds, with no built-in BEC.
The XRotor PRO 50A adds several features beyond a basic multirotor ESC, including DEO Driving Efficiency Optimization, built-in red/green navigation LEDs, automatic timing, rapid throttle response and a four-position DIP-switch control system for LED status, LED color, DEO status and motor rotation.
This is the Wire Leaded version, with motor output wires rather than the Connector-On-Board layout used on some other XRotor models. SKU 30902052 is supplied as a Dual Pack containing 2 × XRotor PRO 50A ESCs.

DIP-Switch Control for LED, DEO & Motor Rotation
The underside of the XRotor PRO 50A features four DIP switches that provide direct hardware control over several important ESC functions. This makes key setup changes accessible without requiring a separate programming device.
| DIP Switch | ON | OFF / Alternate Position |
|---|---|---|
| Switch 1 – LED Status | LED ON | LED OFF |
| Switch 2 – LED Color | Red | Green |
| Switch 3 – DEO | DEO ON | DEO OFF |
| Switch 4 – Motor Rotation | CW | CCW |
The manual describes CW / CCW as a selectable motor-rotation setting. It should not be interpreted as an automatic in-flight reversing function unless the complete flight-control system is specifically configured for that behavior.
Built-In Red & Green Navigation LEDs
The XRotor PRO 50A includes high-visibility LEDs directly on the ESC. The color can be selected between red and green using the DIP switch, and the LED can also be switched completely on or off.
On a multirotor, these built-in LEDs can reduce the need to add separate navigation lights and extra wiring purely for orientation lighting.
DEO Driving Efficiency Optimization
DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) is one of the XRotor PRO platform's key multirotor-control technologies. With DEO enabled, the ESC actively brakes the motor when throttle is reduced so motor speed can fall more rapidly.
This faster deceleration can improve throttle linearity and help the aircraft respond more directly during rapid attitude changes. Hobbywing also identifies improved driving efficiency and lower ESC operating temperature as benefits of DEO.
Automatic Timing & Intelligent Default Settings
The XRotor PRO 50A uses intelligent default parameters and automatic timing adjustment to simplify the initial setup of supported multirotor power systems.
This reduces the need for extensive ESC tuning while still allowing the user to control the functions that matter most on the PRO 50A through its DIP switches.
Rapid Throttle Response for Multirotor Flight
A dedicated core program for multirotor controllers gives the XRotor PRO 50A fast throttle response for the repeated motor-speed changes required during hovering, attitude correction and directional control.
The ESC is compatible with various flight-control systems and supports throttle signal frequencies up to 621Hz.
Wire Leaded Motor Connection
SKU 30902052 is the Wire Leaded XRotor PRO 50A. The motor side uses output wires with 3.5mm connectors rather than a Connector-On-Board motor layout.
This gives the installer flexibility when positioning the ESC relative to the motor, but motor wire routing, connector clearance and available airframe space should still be checked before installation.
No Built-In BEC – Separate Receiver Power Required
The XRotor PRO 50A has no built-in BEC. Its throttle lead therefore does not provide regulated receiver or flight-controller power.
Use an appropriate external UBEC, regulated power module or other suitable receiver / flight-controller power source according to the electrical architecture of your multirotor.
Throttle Range Calibration
Throttle-range calibration should be performed when using a new XRotor brushless ESC or when changing to another transmitter.
- Turn on the transmitter and move the throttle stick to the top position.
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are correctly bound, then connect power to the ESC and receiver system.
- After the motor emits two short confirmation beeps, move the throttle stick to the bottom position within approximately three seconds.
- The throttle range is then calibrated.
Built-In Protection Functions
Start-Up Protection
If the ESC cannot start the motor normally within approximately two seconds as throttle increases, it shuts down motor output. Return the throttle to the appropriate bottom or neutral position before attempting another start.
Over-Load Protection
The ESC can cut motor output when the load suddenly increases to an abnormally high level. Normal operation will not resume until the throttle is returned appropriately.
Throttle Signal Loss Protection
If throttle signal loss is detected for more than approximately 0.25 second, the ESC cuts output immediately. Corresponding motor output can resume after a normal throttle signal is received again.
What to Check Before Buying
- Confirm that your propulsion system uses a 4S, 5S or 6S LiPo battery.
- Check actual motor and propeller current against the 50A continuous ESC rating.
- Do not treat the 70A / 10-second peak rating as a continuous operating target.
- Confirm that the wire-leaded 3.5mm motor connection suits your motor wiring.
- Check the 48 × 30 × 15.5mm ESC dimensions against the available mounting area.
- Allow suitable airflow and cooling around the ESC.
- Provide an appropriate separate power source for the receiver and flight controller because there is no BEC.
- Confirm flight-controller throttle-signal compatibility.
- Configure LED color, DEO and motor rotation before normal flight operation.
- Remember that SKU 30902052 is a Dual Pack containing two ESCs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many XRotor PRO 50A ESCs are included?
Two ESCs are included. SKU 30902052 is supplied as an XRotor PRO 50A Dual Pack.
What battery does the XRotor PRO 50A support?
The XRotor PRO 50A is specified for 4-6S LiPo batteries.
What is the current rating?
Each ESC is rated for 50A continuous current and 70A peak current for 10 seconds.
Does the XRotor PRO 50A have a BEC?
No. The XRotor PRO 50A does not include a built-in BEC. The receiver and flight controller require an appropriate separate regulated power supply.
What does the DIP switch control?
The four DIP switches control LED ON/OFF status, red or green LED color, DEO ON/OFF status and CW / CCW motor rotation.
Does it have navigation LEDs?
Yes. Built-in high-visibility LEDs can be configured as red or green and can also be switched off using the DIP switches.
What is DEO?
DEO means Driving Efficiency Optimization. When enabled, active motor braking helps reduce motor speed more quickly when throttle is lowered, while Hobbywing also identifies improved throttle linearity, driving efficiency and lower ESC operating temperature.
Can motor direction be changed?
Yes. The XRotor PRO 50A DIP-switch system allows motor rotation to be selected between CW and CCW.
Does CW / CCW control mean automatic 3D reversing?
The Hobbywing manual describes the function as a DIP-switch motor-rotation setting. It should not automatically be interpreted as dynamic in-flight reversing unless the complete system is specifically configured and documented for that behavior.
Does the XRotor PRO 50A support 621Hz throttle signals?
Yes. Hobbywing states support for throttle signal frequencies up to 621Hz. Signals above 500Hz are classified as non-standard, so flight-controller compatibility should be verified.
