CNHL Super Tucano V2 1600mm Replacement All-Metal Nose Landing Gear Retract Unit

The CNHL STUPV2011 is the replacement all-metal nose landing gear retract unit for the AviNationRC Super Tucano V2 1600mm RC plane. It is the powered retract mechanism that raises and lowers the front landing gear and is designed specifically around the revised V2 landing-gear system.

One of the key changes from the original V1 aircraft is the retract construction itself. The earlier V1 nose retract used a black-bodied design, while the Super Tucano V2 moves to a silver all-metal retract unit for a more robust landing-gear setup.

STUPV2011 is the correct replacement when the retract motor or internal mechanism is damaged but the separate nose gear leg, wheel and related steering components remain serviceable.

The V2 landing-gear system was redesigned around stronger metal retract hardware. STUPV2011 uses the updated silver all-metal construction rather than the black-bodied retract design used on the original V1 aircraft.

This makes the retract unit one of the most visible mechanical upgrades in the Super Tucano V2 landing-gear system and an important replacement component for pilots maintaining the aircraft long term.

Nose Retract Unit vs Nose Landing Gear

STUPV2011 is the electronic retract mechanism that raises and lowers the front landing gear. It is not the complete nose landing gear leg and wheel assembly.

If the retract mechanism still operates correctly but the wheel, strut or mechanical nose gear assembly is bent or damaged, you may instead need the separate STUPV2024F replacement nose landing gear.

Installation & Function Checks

• Confirm the retract unit is mounted securely and squarely in the fuselage.
• Connect the retract wiring correctly before cycling the system.
• Check that the nose gear extends and retracts smoothly without binding.
• Verify there is adequate clearance around the nose gear and gear door.
• Check the nose gear door sequencing after installation.
• Inspect the mechanical nose gear leg and steering linkage before taxiing.
• Cycle the retract system several times on the bench before flight.
• Perform a slow taxi test after completing the repair.
