The Hobbywing 10A HV UBEC 6V/7.4V/8.4V External Switching BEC for 3-14S LiPo is a high-voltage external DC voltage regulator designed to provide stable receiver and servo power for larger RC aircraft and other demanding RC setups. It draws power from a 3S to 14S LiPo battery and converts it into a safe, consistent output voltage for receivers, servos, gyros, and other onboard electronics.
This HV UBEC uses an efficient DC-DC regulator chip with a conversion efficiency of more than 90%. Compared with a traditional linear BEC, the switch-mode design helps reduce wasted heat and is better suited for high-voltage RC power systems, especially larger fixed-wing aircraft and servo-heavy builds.
With 6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V adjustable output, 10A continuous current, 25A instantaneous current, overcurrent protection, output short-circuit protection, and overheat protection, this Hobbywing 10A HV UBEC is a practical external BEC upgrade for large aircraft, OPTO ESC setups, and HV servo systems.

Use this Hobbywing 10A HV UBEC when your RC aircraft needs stronger and more stable receiver power than the ESC’s built-in BEC can provide. It is especially useful for larger fixed-wing aircraft, high-voltage 6S to 14S power systems, OPTO ESC setups, HV servo systems, or models with multiple high-load servos.
For large aircraft or servo-heavy setups, relying only on a small internal BEC may create heat or voltage stability issues. A dedicated external switching BEC helps separate receiver and servo power from motor control, giving the electronics a more reliable power path.
For wiring diagrams, voltage adjustment instructions, safety notes, and setup guidance, please refer to the official Hobbywing 10A HV UBEC user manual.

It is used to provide stable power to the receiver, servos, gyro, and other onboard electronics. It is useful when the ESC has no built-in BEC, when the internal BEC is not strong enough, or when a separate high-current receiver-power solution is preferred.
Yes. This Hobbywing 10A HV UBEC supports 3-14S LiPo input, making it suitable for many larger RC aircraft power systems.
Use 6V for electronics that support 6V operation, 7.4V for compatible HV receivers and HV servos, and 8.4V only for HV servo systems rated for 8.4V operation. Always check your electronics specifications before changing the output voltage.
It is not recommended if you need stable 8.4V output. As the 3S LiPo voltage drops during use, the UBEC may not be able to maintain a stable 8.4V output. For 8.4V output, 4S LiPo or higher input is recommended.
Yes, if your ESC already has a built-in BEC and you want this external UBEC to power the receiver, the ESC’s BEC output should be disconnected first. This avoids powering the receiver from two BEC outputs at the same time.
No. This product is not an ESC and does not control the motor. It is an external switching HV BEC used to power the receiver, servos, gyro, and other low-voltage electronics.
