About the Arrma 1/16 GROM RC Platform
The Quake Grom and Gorgon Grom belong to Arrma’s latest 1/16 RC lineup. Both models are built on the same GROM chassis, featuring a shared battery bay that accepts 2S 7.4V packs. This cross-compatibility simplifies upgrades — one set of CNHL RC batteries can power both trucks effortlessly.
Recommended CNHL RC Batteries
- CNHL Black Series 1300mAh 7.4V 2S 100C LiPo Battery (XT60) — Lightweight and agile, ideal for the Quake Grom or performance-oriented setups.
- CNHL Black Series 1500mAh 7.4V 2S 100C LiPo Battery (XT60) — Slightly larger capacity for longer runtimes, perfect for Gorgon Grom bashing.
Both packs fit securely within the 1/16 GROM tray and can be connected using a short XT60→IC2 adapter cable. Expect faster response, stronger acceleration, and steadier power delivery compared to the stock Li-ion pack.
Performance Upgrade Benefits
Switching from a Li-ion to a CNHL high-discharge 2S LiPo battery brings immediate results: higher voltage retention, cleaner launches, and a noticeable reduction in power sag. The 100C discharge capability ensures the ESC and motor receive consistent current, even during aggressive driving sessions.
Connector & Fitment Notes
The Arrma 1/16 GROM chassis uses the IC2 plug type. CNHL RC batteries ship with XT60 connectors for maximum versatility; a simple adapter solves compatibility. The 1300–1500mAh form factor fits the tray perfectly without trimming or modifying straps.
