What Vertical Fin Damage Feels Like in the Air
If your Bison suddenly needs more rudder correction than you remember—especially during rollout, low-speed turns, or in gusty conditions—the fin may be the hidden culprit.
A straight fin helps the airplane hold heading without fighting you, which matters a lot on STOL-style approaches where you’re slower and closer to the stall margin.
Install Notes (Practical)
Square it up: before final fastening, sight down the fuselage and confirm the fin is centered and vertical.
Rudder neutral: re-center the servo and re-check linkage so the rudder isn’t “pre-loaded” to one side.
First flight after repair: do a calm takeoff, climb out, then trim at a safe altitude before slowing down.

Finally!
The Horten 229 is one of my biggest fascinations in aviation and this parkflyer-size RC version is a dream come true! Although made of EPO, the quality of the model is very good and it comes with landing gear, battery, and carrying case. It's also good for static display. I haven't flown it yet as I'm waiting for my LiHV charger but I plan on getting a second one just in case.
That model is a masterpiece! From the aerodynamics over the details, light weight construction and the flawless handling qualities and impressive performance, all for a very fair price and in a cool package!

Opening the box was so exciting! The plane is beautiful. Amazingly light weight, but durable.
I am so enthusiastic about this, I will demonstrating mine in my booth in the C building, #3113, at the Oshkosh Air Show the week of July 20, 2026.
I will also be taking orders for them to benefit my charity, Friends of British Aviation Heritage, which is raising money to not only to help attach the wings to the real Horten 229, but to help with restoration of another plane soon to go on display in England.
I ordered 3x 2000mha and 3x 4000mha lipo batteries and a pack of deans to traxxas plug adapters.
Usps was slow on their scans, and shipping as usual. Customer service was able to help sort out the shipping.
My items arrived before the estimated flight delivery date, which was a surprise considering 😆.
Everything works perfect out of the package, except for 1 battery, which I will be contacting customer service about.
Even with the one battery that was bad... I've thoroughly enjoyed the batteries. They proved great run time and power. They haven't got hot, and my son and I run our trucks pretty hard lol 😆.
