Spare Parts & Long-Term Support
Reliable spare parts support matters when an RC aircraft is expected to keep flying season after season. Many essential Super Tucano replacement parts are already available, with additional V2 components and regular restocks continuing across our US, EU and UK warehouses.
Our goal is simple: long-term support, not just a one-time sale.
For current V1 and V2 parts and availability, browse our Super Tucano spare parts collection. Individual listings identify compatibility where V1 and V2 components differ.
The CNHL AviNationRC Super Tucano V2 1600mm is a genuine second-generation update inspired by the full-size A-29 / EMB-314 Super Tucano. More than a new color scheme, V2 introduces a new all-metal electronic retract system, strengthened forward fuselage structure, a longer and more open battery bay, ball-link controls, carbon-reinforced elevator surfaces, a strengthened propeller system and faster, more powerful servos.
Its 6S power system and scale five-blade propeller give this Super Tucano RC plane strong acceleration, convincing scale presence and plenty of authority for aerobatics, while large flaps and sprung oleo landing gear make slow passes, powered approaches and grass-field operation equally enjoyable.
The new high-contrast Ecuadorian Air Force digital-camo scheme gives the V2 a very different personality on the ground and in the air. Add the servo-operated scale nose gear door, detailed tandem cockpit, LED lighting and refined undercarriage, and the result is a modern 1600mm RC Super Tucano that combines scale detail with a surprisingly broad flight envelope.
Quick Fit Check
The Super Tucano V2 is supplied in PNP configuration with the motor, ESC, servos, retract system, flap system and LED lighting already installed. To complete the aircraft, add a compatible 6–7 channel radio system, a suitable 6S LiPo battery and a 6S-capable balance charger.
The recommended battery range is 6S 4000–6700mAh, 40–120C, with an installed pack weight of approximately 600–900g. The redesigned V2 battery area provides more usable fore-aft space than the original aircraft, making CG adjustment considerably easier.
This large 6S PNP warbird is best suited to intermediate and advanced pilots who are already comfortable with retracts, flaps, CG setup and powered approaches.
What's New on the Super Tucano V2?
The V2 updates concentrate on the parts of a large RC warbird that matter most once the aircraft becomes a regular part of the flying season: landing gear durability, structural support, battery positioning, control hardware, propeller hardware and long-term serviceability.

All-Metal Retracts and a Servo-Operated Nose Gear Door
The landing gear is one of the most substantial changes on the Super Tucano V2. The aircraft now uses rugged all-metal electronic retract units paired with sprung oleo struts, giving the tricycle undercarriage a stronger foundation for repeated operation from hard runways and well-maintained grass fields.
The nose gear also gains its own servo-operated scale door. Once correctly sequenced through the radio, the door opens before the nose wheel extends and closes again after retraction. The strengthened forward fuselage gives this entire area more support, so the V2 update goes beyond simply replacing the retract unit.
Ball-Link Controls, Carbon Reinforcement and Faster Servos
The V2 control system receives its own mechanical upgrade. Ball links are used across the flight-control surfaces, giving the linkages a more positive connection with less unwanted play. That is especially useful on an aircraft expected to move from slow flap work to fast passes and hard aerobatics during the same flight.
Carbon reinforcement has been added to the elevator surfaces, while the updated servos provide increased power and speed. Six 13g metal high-speed servos operate the two ailerons, elevator, two flaps and rudder. A separate 25g servo handles nose-wheel steering, while a 9g metal servo operates the scale nose gear door.
Longer V2 Battery Bay for Easier CG Adjustment
The battery compartment is another practical V2 improvement. Compared with the original Super Tucano 1600mm, the V2 provides a longer usable battery area with less foam obstruction behind the pack.
That additional space gives the flight battery more room to move fore and aft while setting the center of gravity. Some V1 pilots created extra rearward clearance themselves to move heavier packs farther back; V2 builds more of that adjustment range directly into the airframe.
The extra room does not remove the need to check CG, but it makes battery placement considerably less restrictive and gives pilots more flexibility when choosing between different 6S capacities and pack weights.
5052-525KV Power and a Strengthened Five-Blade Propeller
Power comes from an AVN Sport 5052-525KV brushless outrunner paired with an AVN RVS 100A brushless speed controller. Up front sits a 13×8 scale five-blade propeller, one of the features that gives the Super Tucano its distinctive appearance and sound in flight.
The propeller system has been strengthened for V2. It provides strong low-speed pull for takeoff and climb while retaining the power needed for fast passes, large loops and more aggressive aerobatic flying.
Optional reverse functionality is available through the RVS ESC when correctly configured, which can help reduce rollout distance on suitable hard-surface runways.
Scale Flying with Serious Aerobatic Ability
In the air, the Super Tucano V2 has a settled, neutral feel that suits long scale passes and relaxed circuits. Open the throttle and the character changes quickly. Rolls and loops come naturally, knife-edge work is well within its range, and the airframe has enough control authority for much more aggressive flying in experienced hands.
With the right setup, this Tucano RC plane can move well beyond conventional warbird aerobatics. Rolling circles, knife-edge loops, harriers, hovers and even crankshafts are all within the aircraft's repertoire. That combination of scale presence and unexpected 3D capability is one of the reasons the Super Tucano feels different from a conventional scale warbird.
Large flaps broaden the opposite end of the flight envelope. Slow low passes are especially rewarding, while a powered approach with flap lets the aircraft settle naturally toward the runway before touching down on the main wheels first.
High-Contrast Digital Camo and Scale Detail
V2 receives a completely new Ecuadorian Air Force digital-camo finish. The mix of green, tan, brown and dark sections creates noticeably stronger contrast than a conventional grey warbird finish and gives the aircraft a very different presence both on the ground and in flight.
The large tandem canopy includes two pilot figures, while factory-applied scale markings, LED navigation, formation and landing lights, landing-gear detail and the five-blade propeller complete the overall appearance.
The quick-release canopy also provides straightforward access to the receiver and battery area and leaves useful room for pilots interested in adding a suitable FPV installation.
Large Flaps, Powered Approaches and Grass-Field Operation
The large flap system is useful for far more than the final landing approach. It lets the Super Tucano slow down significantly for low passes and coordinated turns, while the sprung oleo undercarriage helps smooth out the small bumps and uneven surfaces found at many grass flying fields.
For landing, carry some power through the approach rather than simply gliding the aircraft in. Aim to settle onto the main wheels first and allow the nose wheel to lower naturally as the aircraft loses speed.
6S Battery Setup and Center of Gravity
The CNHL Super Tucano V2 is designed around a 6S 22.2V LiPo battery from 4000mAh to 6700mAh with a 40–120C discharge rating. A battery weighing approximately 600–900g provides a practical starting range for balancing useful flight time against overall aircraft weight.
Browse our 6S LiPo batteries for the Super Tucano 1600mm to compare suitable CNHL packs for both the original Super Tucano and V2.
Do not choose by capacity alone. Battery dimensions, installed weight, connector compatibility and final CG all matter. The longer V2 battery bay makes positioning easier, but every aircraft should still be physically balanced before flight.
For the maiden flight, set the CG at 80mm behind the wing leading edge. Balance the aircraft inverted with the landing gear retracted and reposition the battery until the model sits slightly nose-down at the reference point.
Optional Screw-Assisted Wing and Fuselage Assembly
V2 includes additional M3 self-tapping screws and plywood screw plates for the wing halves and fuselage joint. The hardware can help keep the parts correctly aligned while adhesive cures and can also make a more transport-friendly multi-part arrangement easier to manage where storage space is limited.
For maximum strength and security, glued assembly remains the preferred configuration. Use a suitable foam-safe adhesive and make sure the wing and fuselage joints are properly aligned before the adhesive cures.

CNHL Super Tucano V2 Frequently Asked Questions
What are the biggest upgrades on the CNHL Super Tucano V2?
The biggest changes are the all-metal retract system, servo-operated nose gear door, strengthened forward fuselage, longer and more open battery bay, ball-link controls, carbon-reinforced elevator surfaces, strengthened propeller system, faster servos, optional screw-assisted assembly hardware and the new digital-camo finish.
How is the V2 battery bay different from V1?
The V2 battery compartment provides more usable length and less foam obstruction behind the battery. This gives the pack more room to move rearward or forward when setting CG and reduces the need for the type of foam trimming some original-version owners performed themselves.
What battery does the Super Tucano V2 use?
Use a 6S 22.2V LiPo in the 4000–6700mAh range with a 40–120C discharge rating. A pack weighing approximately 600–900g is a useful starting range. Always confirm pack dimensions, connector compatibility and final CG before flying.
What is the recommended CG for the Super Tucano V2?
For the maiden flight, use an 80mm CG reference measured back from the wing leading edge. Balance the aircraft inverted with the landing gear retracted and move the battery until the aircraft sits slightly nose-down.
Is the CNHL Super Tucano V2 based on the A-29 / EMB-314 Super Tucano?
Yes. The CNHL AviNationRC Super Tucano V2 is a 1600mm RC model inspired by the full-size A-29 / EMB-314 Super Tucano. Its recognizable scale cues include the tandem cockpit, low-wing profile and five-blade propeller, while the V2 adds its own high-contrast digital-camo finish and updated RC-specific systems.
Is this the Avios Super Tucano V2?
No. This Super Tucano V2 is sold under the AviNationRC brand through CNHL / China Hobby Line. Pilots researching the Avios Super Tucano or HobbyKing Super Tucano will recognize the same 1600mm Super Tucano class, but V2 introduces its own updated landing gear, battery bay, control hardware, structural reinforcement and digital-camo configuration.
How does the Super Tucano V2 compare with the original Avios Super Tucano 1600mm sold by HobbyKing?
The overall size and Super Tucano character remain familiar, but the V2 introduces substantial revisions to the retract system, forward fuselage, battery bay, control linkages, elevator reinforcement, servos, propeller system and scale detailing. AviNationRC/CNHL and Avios/HobbyKing are separate brands; those names are referenced here to help pilots compare the different Super Tucano RC plane versions.
Does the V2 nose gear door work automatically?
The nose gear door uses its own 9g servo and needs to be sequenced through your radio so the door opens before the nose gear extends and closes after the gear retracts. Most modern programmable transmitters can handle this type of sequencing.
Can the wing or fuselage remain removable for transport?
V2 includes additional screws and plywood plates that can assist with the wing and fuselage joints and help where transport space is limited. For maximum structural strength, glued assembly remains the preferred configuration.
Are V1 and V2 Super Tucano spare parts interchangeable?
Some components may be shared, while others are specific to the revised V2 structure. Do not assume landing gear, nose-door, airframe or control components are interchangeable without checking. Use the compatibility information in our Super Tucano spare parts collection.
How long can the Super Tucano V2 fly?
Typical mixed-throttle flight time is around seven minutes with a suitable battery. Actual duration varies with battery capacity and weight, throttle use, aerobatics, wind and flying style.
Is the Super Tucano V2 suitable for beginners?
This is a large and powerful 6S aircraft best suited to intermediate and advanced pilots. Anyone moving into larger scale warbirds should already be comfortable with takeoffs, landings, flap management, retracts and CG setup, or arrange for an experienced pilot to assist with the maiden flight.
