The Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite 2300KV combines the ESC and brushless motor into one ultra-compact FOC power system for 1/10-scale RC crawlers. At only 48.5mm long, it is 9.5mm shorter than the QUICRUN Fusion Pro 540spec while supporting 2-4S LiPo, a 50A continuous / 150A peak current rating, adjustable 6V / 7.4V / 8.4V BEC, AUX-channel real-time tuning and intelligent closed-loop speed control.

Its main advantage is not outright vehicle speed. The Fusion Pro Elite is designed around the things that matter in technical crawling: compact installation, very smooth low-speed response, strong torque at low RPM, controlled descents, configurable drag brake behavior and cleaner chassis wiring.

48.5mm Ultra-Compact 2-in-1 Design

The QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite integrates the ESC electronics inside the motor assembly, removing the need to find a separate mounting location for a conventional crawler ESC and eliminating the three external phase wires normally required between ESC and motor.

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite 48.5mm compact design compared with 58mm Fusion Pro 2300KV

Its 48.5mm overall motor length is one of the defining improvements of the Elite version. It is approximately 9.5mm shorter than the 58mm QUICRUN Fusion Pro, creating additional room around transmissions, links, receiver boxes, lighting controllers, winch electronics and scale interior components.

The shorter body improves packaging flexibility, but it should not be interpreted as universal fitment. Before installation, confirm the 37mm motor diameter, mounting pattern, gearbox clearance, link geometry and 16mm exposed shaft length against your crawler chassis.

FOC Control for Ultra-Smooth Low-Speed Crawling

Field-Oriented Control is central to the way the Fusion Pro Elite delivers power. Instead of concentrating on maximum vehicle speed, the system is designed to provide a smooth, progressive relationship between throttle input, motor torque and vehicle movement at very low RPM.

QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite FOC control delivering smooth low-speed torque for technical RC crawling

This gives technical crawlers stronger low-speed torque, fine throttle modulation and a quieter operating character when negotiating rocks, roots, ledges and other situations where small throttle changes matter more than outright speed.

The integrated FOC system also reduces unnecessary electrical losses and heat compared with less optimized drive strategies, helping the powertrain operate efficiently during extended trail and crawling sessions.

Intelligent RPM Matching and Closed-Loop Torque Control

In Forward and Reverse RPM Matching mode, the Fusion Pro Elite uses closed-loop speed control to compensate for changes in vehicle resistance. When the crawler meets a steeper section, rock or other additional load, the system can increase output torque to keep vehicle speed closer to the driver's throttle request.

Hobbywing Fusion Pro Elite RPM Matching closed-loop torque control for climbing and controlled descents

The same control strategy can make downhill sections easier to manage because the system actively regulates motor output instead of allowing terrain alone to dictate vehicle speed.

This RPM Matching behavior is mode-dependent. In the Normal operating modes, the system behaves more like a conventional sensored brushless or brushed ESC and does not automatically compensate torque to maintain the same vehicle speed.

Five Selectable Running Modes

The Elite expands the Fusion platform with five available operating configurations:

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite five selectable crawler running modes including RPM Matching and Hybrid modes

  • Forward and Reverse — RPM Matching: direct forward/reverse operation with closed-loop speed control.
  • Forward/Reverse with Brake — Normal: conventional forward/brake/reverse behavior without automatic torque compensation.
  • Forward and Reverse — Normal: direct forward/reverse behavior without RPM Matching.
  • Hybrid-RPM Matching: operating behavior changes according to whether drag brake is enabled.
  • Hybrid-Normal: combines Normal-mode behaviors with drag-brake-dependent switching.

The Hybrid modes give experienced crawler drivers another way to combine free-running behavior and drag brake control without limiting the system to one fixed driving style.

Active Drag Brake with Adjustable Force and Rate

Technical crawling often requires more than simply applying maximum drag brake. The Fusion Pro Elite allows Drag Brake Force and Drag Brake Rate to be adjusted separately.

Drag Brake Force controls the final braking force applied when the throttle returns to neutral, with Disabled plus Levels 1-8 available. Drag Brake Rate controls how aggressively that braking force is introduced, with Auto plus Levels 1-9 available.

The Auto drag-brake-rate setting can respond to current draw so the system applies braking more progressively when required, helping reduce abrupt drivetrain loading or vehicle instability while retaining precise low-speed control.

Real-Time AUX Channel Adjustment from Your Transmitter

A dedicated yellow signal wire allows the Fusion Pro Elite to connect to an unused AUX channel on a compatible receiver. This makes it possible to adjust a selected ESC parameter directly from a transmitter knob, dial or switch while the vehicle is in use.

QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite AUX channel real-time ESC parameter adjustment from RC transmitter

The default AUX assignment is Drag Brake Force, which is particularly useful when moving between steep rock sections, loose terrain and flatter trail sections. Other supported parameters can be assigned through programmable item 14, AUX CH Function.

Actual AUX functionality depends on the available receiver channel and the controls supported by your radio system.

2-4S LiPo Support for Flexible Crawler Builds

The QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite supports 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo batteries as well as 6-12 cell NiMH packs. This wider input range gives builders more flexibility when configuring trail rigs, heavier scale crawlers or setups that benefit from higher system voltage.

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite 2300KV supporting 2S 3S and 4S LiPo for 1/10 RC crawlers

The ESC can automatically detect LiPo cell count, but if you consistently use the same battery configuration, manually setting the cell count can help prevent an incorrectly discharged pack from being misidentified.

6V / 7.4V / 8.4V Adjustable 5A BEC

The built-in switch-mode BEC provides 5A continuous output and can be set to 6V, 7.4V or 8.4V. This makes the system suitable for a broad range of standard servos, high-voltage steering servos and compatible receiver-side accessories.

Hobbywing Fusion Pro Elite adjustable 6V 7.4V 8.4V 5A BEC for crawler servos and receiver electronics

Important: the selected BEC voltage must remain within the maximum voltage specification of the receiver, steering servo, winch controller, lighting controller and every other device connected to the receiver power bus.

When using a 2S LiPo, the BEC cannot maintain a regulated 7.4V or 8.4V output as battery voltage falls. Hobbywing therefore recommends using a 3S or 4S LiPo when the BEC is configured for 7.4V or 8.4V operation.

IP67 Protection for Real Crawler Conditions

The complete Fusion Pro Elite power system carries an IP67 protection rating, making it well suited to the wet, dusty and dirty environments regularly encountered by trail trucks and rock crawlers.

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite IP67 waterproof and dustproof crawler power system

That protection helps the system cope with rain, mud, splashes, sand and snow during normal RC use. IP67 should not be interpreted as permission for prolonged underwater operation. Waterproof and dustproof performance can also decline with wear, aging, impacts, damaged seals or improper maintenance.

After wet or muddy use, clean the vehicle, remove trapped debris, allow components to dry properly and inspect wiring and connectors before storage.

14 Adjustable Parameters

The QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite provides extensive tuning control through fourteen programmable items:

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite 14 adjustable ESC parameters for crawler tuning
  • Running Mode
  • LiPo Cells
  • Cutoff Voltage
  • Thermal Protection
  • Motor Rotation
  • BEC Voltage
  • Drag Brake Force
  • Drag Brake Rate
  • Max. Reverse Force
  • Max. Brake Force
  • RPM Decrease Rate
  • Punch
  • Neutral Range
  • AUX CH Function

Programmable Low-Voltage Cutoff

For LiPo use, the cutoff system monitors battery voltage and progressively limits output when the selected threshold is reached.

  • Low: 3.0V per cell
  • Medium: 3.25V per cell
  • High: 3.5V per cell

When low-voltage protection is triggered, output is gradually reduced before eventually being disabled. Low-voltage protection can also be disabled for applications such as NiMH operation where appropriate.

LED and LCD Program Box Support

The Fusion Pro Elite uses an independent programming port located on the electronic switch. Connect the programming interface while the system is powered off, then power on the vehicle to access the ESC settings.

Hobbywing QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite compatible with LED Program Box and LCD Program Box Pro

Supported programming devices include:

  • Hobbywing LED Program Box
  • Hobbywing LCD Program Box Pro/G2

The Elite therefore offers broader programming support than the previous Fusion Pro 2300KV generation. The programmer is not included unless specifically stated in the product package.

Multiple Protection Functions

Built-in protection functions help protect the power system against common crawler electrical and operating problems:

  • Battery low-voltage protection
  • Thermal / overheat protection
  • Throttle signal loss protection
  • Motor lock-up protection

The system also uses LED status indicators to communicate normal operation, detected LiPo cell count and protection states.

Installation and Receiver Power Notes

The motor uses six M3 mounting holes with a maximum mounting-hole depth of 5mm. Always confirm motor screw length before installation. Screws that extend too far into the motor can cause internal damage.

The red wire in the ESC throttle lead supplies BEC power to the receiver and servo system. Do not simultaneously power the same receiver bus from another BEC or receiver battery unless the power architecture has been correctly isolated.

If an external receiver power source is required, disconnect or unpin the Fusion Pro Elite's red BEC wire from the throttle lead and insulate it securely before applying the second power source.

Throttle Calibration

Throttle calibration should be completed before first use and whenever the transmitter or receiver is replaced. The system records neutral, full throttle and full reverse positions so that the ESC can correctly interpret the radio's throttle range.

For safety, remove the pinion gear or otherwise ensure that the wheels are clear of the ground while performing calibration and programming procedures.

Automatic Motor Pairing

If the motor experiences a severe impact, abnormal heat or abnormal power output, the Fusion Pro Elite includes an optional automatic motor-pairing procedure. The motor should be separated from drivetrain load before performing this process, followed by a new throttle-range calibration.

FAQ

Is the QUICRUN Fusion Pro Elite 2300KV an ESC or a motor?

It is both. The ESC electronics and 2300KV FOC brushless motor are integrated into one compact 2-in-1 crawler power system.

What battery does the Fusion Pro Elite support?

It supports 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo batteries or 6-12 cell NiMH packs.

Is the Fusion Pro Elite shorter than the Fusion Pro 2300KV?

Yes. The Fusion Pro Elite is 48.5mm long, compared with 58mm for the previous Fusion Pro 540spec, a reduction of approximately 9.5mm.

Can I use an 8.4V servo with the Fusion Pro Elite?

The BEC can be set to 8.4V, but every connected receiver-side device must support that voltage. Hobbywing recommends using a 3S or 4S LiPo when selecting 7.4V or 8.4V BEC output because a 2S pack cannot maintain those regulated voltages throughout discharge.

Can I adjust drag brake from my transmitter?

Yes. Connect the Elite's yellow AUX signal cable to an unused receiver channel and assign the desired AUX CH Function. Drag Brake Force is the default real-time adjustable parameter.

Does the Fusion Pro Elite support the Hobbywing LCD Program Box?

It supports the Hobbywing LED Program Box and LCD Program Box Pro/G2 through the independent programming port on the electronic switch.

Is the Fusion Pro Elite waterproof?

The integrated power system carries an IP67 protection rating for normal RC exposure to water and dust. It should not be treated as permanently waterproof or left submerged for extended periods.

Will the Fusion Pro Elite fit every 1/10 crawler?

No universal-fit claim should be made. Its compact 37 × 48.5mm motor body fits many 1/10 crawler layouts, but gearbox clearance, motor mount geometry, links, shaft position and surrounding electronics should always be checked before purchase.

Important Notice

  • Disconnect the battery after every use. The system consumes a small amount of current even when switched off.
  • Never reverse battery polarity. Reverse-polarity damage is not covered by warranty.
  • Do not set BEC voltage higher than the rated operating voltage of the receiver, servo or connected accessories.
  • When using an independent receiver battery or external BEC, isolate the Fusion Pro Elite BEC output correctly to prevent two power sources from feeding the receiver bus simultaneously.
  • Do not exceed the recommended motor mounting screw depth.
  • Keep system temperature within the limits specified by Hobbywing and inspect the installation if abnormal heat or power behavior occurs.
  • IP67 protection does not mean the product should be left underwater for extended periods.
