Why Choose the 1200KV Fusion SE?
The 1200KV version is aimed at crawler setups where controlled wheel speed and fine throttle resolution are priorities. A lower KV motor produces fewer unloaded RPM per volt than the 1800KV version, making it easier to build a drivetrain around deliberate, low-speed crawling behavior.
That does not mean the 1200KV version automatically produces more usable wheel torque in every vehicle. Final crawling behavior depends on battery voltage, pinion size, spur gear, axle ratio, tire diameter and vehicle weight. The practical advantage is that the lower motor speed provides a useful foundation for technical crawler gearing.
Integrated ESC and Motor for a Cleaner Crawler Layout
The Fusion SE places the ESC electronics inside the motor assembly instead of requiring a separate standalone ESC. This removes the normal three external phase wires between ESC and motor and reduces the number of major components that need their own chassis mounting location.
The 36 × 58.1mm body can simplify wiring and leave more usable chassis space for receivers, lighting controllers and scale accessories. Always verify transmission clearance and motor-mount geometry before installation.
FOC Drive for Precise Low-Speed Control

Actual runtime depends on the complete setup, including gearing, battery capacity, vehicle weight, terrain and driving style, so no fixed runtime improvement should be assumed.
RPM / Throttle Matching for Changing Terrain
When RPM / Throttle Matching is enabled, the ESC uses closed-loop speed control to compensate for changes in vehicle resistance.
When the crawler encounters additional load on a climb, the Fusion SE can automatically adjust motor torque so vehicle speed remains closer to the driver's throttle command. On descents, the same closed-loop behavior can provide a controlled slow-downhill experience.
When RPM / Throttle Matching is disabled, vehicle speed is allowed to change more naturally with terrain resistance, similar to a conventional sensored brushless ESC.
Adjustable Drag Brake for Hill Holding
The Fusion SE separates the final drag brake force from the rate at which that braking force is applied.
- Drag Brake Force: Disabled + Levels 1-8
- Drag Brake Rate: Levels 1-9
Drag Brake Force determines how much braking force is ultimately applied at neutral throttle. Drag Brake Rate determines how quickly that force builds from zero to the selected level.
This makes it possible to configure strong hill holding without necessarily making the initial braking action excessively abrupt.
2-3S LiPo Support
The QUICRUN Fusion SE 1200KV supports 2S and 3S LiPo batteries or 6-9 cell NiMH packs.
The correct battery choice should be made together with the crawler's gearing and desired wheel speed. A 3S setup does not simply make the system “better”; the additional voltage also increases motor RPM, so gearing and drivetrain load should be considered as part of the complete power system.
LiPo cell count can be detected automatically or selected manually through the ESC programming system.
6V / 7.4V Adjustable 4A BEC
The built-in switch-mode BEC provides 4A continuous current and selectable 6V or 7.4V output.
Use 6V for conventional receiver-side electronics that are not designed for high voltage. The 7.4V setting can be used with compatible high-voltage servos and receiver equipment.
Important: every device connected to the receiver power bus must support the selected BEC voltage.
A 3S LiPo should be used when regulated 7.4V BEC output is required. A 2S LiPo does not provide enough voltage headroom to maintain a regulated 7.4V output throughout the complete discharge cycle.
IP67 Protection for Wet and Dusty Trails
The complete Fusion SE power system carries an IP67 protection rating and is designed to withstand the water, dust and debris commonly encountered by trail trucks and rock crawlers.
This makes the system suitable for normal crawler use involving rain, splashes, mud, dust and snow.
IP67 protection does not mean the system should remain submerged for extended periods. Waterproof and dustproof performance may also decline after impacts, seal damage or long-term wear. Clean and dry the power system after wet or muddy operation.
Designed for Demanding Crawler Use
The integrated structure, sealed electronic switch and simplified wiring layout reduce the number of exposed external power-system components compared with a conventional ESC-and-motor installation.
As with any crawler electronics, inspect wiring, connectors, mounting hardware and the switch assembly after hard impacts or demanding wet-weather use.

Programmable LiPo Low-Voltage Protection
The Fusion SE continuously monitors battery voltage while low-voltage protection is enabled.
- Low: 3.0V per cell
- Medium: 3.2V per cell
- High: 3.4V per cell
When battery voltage reaches the selected threshold, output is progressively reduced before eventually being disabled to help protect the LiPo battery from excessive discharge.
Low-voltage protection can be disabled, but it should normally remain enabled when using LiPo batteries.
LED Program Box Programming
The Fusion SE uses a dedicated 3-pin programming interface integrated into the electronic switch. ESC parameters are adjusted through the Hobbywing LED Program Box.
Connect the program box while the Fusion SE is switched off, then power on the system. The ITEM and VALUE controls allow available settings to be selected, and the OK button stores the new value.
The Hobbywing LED Program Box is sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise in the package listing.
The QUICRUN Fusion SE does not support LCD G2, LCD Program Box Pro or Hobbywing OTA programming.
Multiple Protection Functions
The Fusion SE includes several protection functions for normal crawler use:
- Battery low-voltage protection
- ESC thermal protection
- Throttle signal loss protection
- Motor lock-up protection
If the ESC enters low-voltage protection, the red LED flashes continuously. If thermal protection is triggered, the green LED flashes continuously until operating temperature falls sufficiently.
Electronic Switch and Programming Port
Short-press the electronic switch to power on the system and long-press it to switch the system off. The same switch assembly contains the independent programming interface used with the LED Program Box.
The battery should still be physically disconnected after every driving session. Leaving a battery connected can allow the ESC to continue drawing a small amount of current even when switched off.
Receiver Power and External BEC Warning
The red wire in the throttle lead carries the internal BEC output to the receiver and steering servo.
Do not simultaneously connect another BEC or receiver battery to the same receiver power bus while the Fusion SE's internal BEC remains connected.
If a separate receiver power source is required, disconnect the red BEC wire from the Fusion SE throttle lead and insulate it securely before applying external receiver power.
Throttle Calibration
Throttle calibration should be completed before first use and repeated if the transmitter, receiver or throttle-channel settings are changed.
The calibration process stores:
- Neutral position
- Full forward position
- Full reverse position
For safety, remove the pinion gear or otherwise prevent the drivetrain from moving the vehicle during calibration.
Automatic Motor Pairing
The Fusion SE provides an optional automatic motor-pairing process if the motor experiences severe impact, abnormal heating or abnormal power output.
The motor gear must be removed before beginning the pairing process because the motor rotates automatically during calibration.
1200KV vs 1800KV Fusion SE: Which Should You Choose?
Both Fusion SE versions share the same integrated FOC architecture, 40A ESC, 2-3S battery range, 4A BEC, physical dimensions and programming system. The key difference is motor KV.
