The CNHL STUPV2012 is a replacement all-metal main landing gear retract unit for the AviNationRC Super Tucano V2 1600mm RC plane. This powered retract mechanism raises and lowers one of the aircraft's main rear landing gear assemblies and is designed specifically for the revised V2 landing-gear system.

The Super Tucano V2 upgrades the retract system with a silver all-metal construction, providing a more substantial mechanical foundation for the main landing gear. STUPV2012 is the appropriate replacement when the retract mechanism itself is damaged or no longer operating correctly while the separate main gear leg and wheel remain serviceable.

Please note: this SKU is the electronic retract mechanism only. The main landing gear leg, sprung oleo strut and wheel are separate replacement components.

All-Metal Main Gear Retract for the Super Tucano V2

The V2 landing-gear system uses revised metal retract hardware for both the nose gear and the main landing gear. STUPV2012 is the dedicated retract mechanism for the main rear gear position and uses the updated silver all-metal construction seen across the V2 retract system.

This stronger metal-based design is one of the key mechanical changes introduced on the Super Tucano V2 and supports the sprung main landing gear used for takeoff, landing and ground handling.

Main Retract Unit vs Main Landing Gear

STUPV2012 is the electronic retract mechanism mounted inside the aircraft. It is responsible for extending and retracting the main landing gear but does not include the external gear leg, sprung oleo strut or wheel.

If the retract mechanism is still working correctly but the wheel, strut or main gear leg is bent or damaged, you may instead need the separate STUPV2025W replacement main (rear) landing gear.

The Super Tucano V2 uses a revised all-metal retract system. This STUPV2012 main landing gear retract is a V2-specific replacement and should not be treated as interchangeable with the original V1 / Avios Super Tucano retract system.

Installation & Function Checks

• Confirm the retract unit is seated squarely and securely in its mounting position.
• Connect the retract wiring and connector correctly before testing.
• Check that the main landing gear extends and retracts smoothly.
• Verify that the retract mechanism does not bind through the full operating range.
• Inspect the separate main landing gear leg, wheel and sprung strut before installation.
• Cycle the retract several times on the bench before flying.
• Check both main gear sides for consistent extension and retraction.
• Perform a complete landing-gear inspection after the first landing following replacement.
